The important question is: What does it do to a man's soul to denigrate another man's faith?

Sometimes if it weren't for a double standard, mormons would have no standards at all. The accusation here is that mormon faith is being 'denigrated' - lets examine the following

"And also those to whom these commandments were given, might have power to lay the foundation of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth..."
- Doctrine and Covenants, section 1, verse 30

Mormonism is denegrating my faith by saying it is in darkness and not a true faith

"What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world"
- Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 270

So the founder of mormonism is saying my faith is of the devil

"...all the priests who adhere to the sectarian religions of the day with all their followers, without one exception, receive their portion with the devil and his angels."
- Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr. , The Elders Journal, v. 1, no. 4, p. 60

And that Christians will be condemned to hell.

"With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world."
- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 199

Your prophets says we are ignorant

"What! Are Christians ignorant? Yes, as ignorant of the things of God as the brute beast."
- Prophet John Taylor, Journal of Discourses, v. 13, p. 225

Calling our faith 'ignorant'.

“Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls.”
- Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, see pp. 45-46

Again, mormons condemning Christians to hell. There are dozens more of these 'denegating' statements regarding another man's faith made by mormon prophets and apostles. Are you going to repudiate them - because until you do, you have no leg to stand upon when we challenge the doctrines of mormonism. But then keep the cry-baby matra up DU, shows double standard of mormonism clearly against the statements of your prophets and apostles.

Sometimes if it weren't for un-sourced (with a link) misquotes antis would have no quotes at all...

Nary a link in the bunch, and accept for the D&C quotation on the church being the only true church, nothing is from the Cannon of the church...

Show me a religion that has never said it was "the true church", and I'll show you a church that was just created, give them a week. All Churches say this at some point.

I could quote Fred Phelps and go after the Baptists, but that would be just as disingenuous as your quotations, I could go back and talk about the sale of indulgences and the Catholic church, but that would also be disingenuous, your list of private comments by men in the church who often were later elevated to positions in the church, lets take the Book Mormon Doctrine for example, you quote from that, it was published in 1958 (link) The link also talks about how the church was embarrassed by the book and asked Bruce R McConkie not to reprint it as it was "full of errors and misstatements, and it is most unfortunate that it has received such wide circulation." Bruce R McConkie edited the book to take out a lot of statements that "Orthodox Christians" found objectionable. Then Bruce R McConkie was called into the quorum of the twelve apostles in 1972. so is it completely in integrity to quote from the 1958 book, and attribute the title that he held (1972-1958=14) fourteen years later as if he wrote it as an apostle? (NO)

Now lets actually address the Damning men to hell thing. The whole baptism for the Dead thing you guys condemn us for... Yeah, that, If anyone "Christian" or not lives the best he/she can and never has an opportunity to learn the Gospel and or have the ordinances of baptism, etc performed by the proper authority. Their work will be done in the Temple (the atonement being a vicarious work all Christians accept the principle of vicarious work) and they will have a chance to accept that work before the day of judgment, thus they could go to the celestial kingdom. There is a path left for all to get out of Damnation, that is Jesus way of doing things.

So now I am responsible for everything anyone said you didn't like? I need to go on an apology tour like some Democrat president? LOL! I only hold antis accountable for what they say, not some Fred Phelps guy, not some one else. you guys posting here, that's who I'm talking to.

But then keep the cry-baby matra up DU, shows double standard of mormonism clearly against the statements of your prophets and apostles.

Now out with the name calling personally by you calling me a cry baby? ROTFLOL! and on top of that in a post where you are getting after me because some other people long ago said things you don't like? You are right about one thing, your post was educational about double standards!
