But speaking of filthy and bloody rags, do you know of the passage in Isaiah 64:6 where he says this about our good works:

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags"

Do you know that the original Hebrew for filthy rags translates as bloody, used, menstrual rags? Can you imagine anything more vile and nasty? And yet, anything we try to do to please God on our own is seen by him as such.
