I wake up to their CD every morning. I had it on Ave Maria for a long time, then had complaints from the peanut gallery. Now I wake to the “Irish Blessing”. Such a beautiful CD “Pia Jesu” is beautiful, “Abide With Me” all so beautifully arranged and performed.

I get a lot of flack for my taste in waking up — but I kind’ve like to wake up the way Eddie Murphy did in “Coming to America” with harps and violins. ;0) Hubby said he has to pinch himself every morning to make sure he's still alive. No doubt he'd like a brass band.

Last time I looked, this was an article about Britain, and the author was quoting British people and opinion, so using British colloquialisms is very reasonable.

And there is NOTHING "prissy" about "gobsmacked". It's a very working class term.

There is a difference between expressing oneself clearly and pretention.

Yes we are and were. I was really worried about this trip - I thought that all kinds of bad things might happen, but I have to admit it has been a triumph. Benny has managed to tap into the deep well of innate faith, spirituality and commonsense that lies at the heart of the Britain I know, sidestepping all the liberal, pc, atheist, humanist BS that pours out of the chattering classes. I guess the old saw is true - its the people who shout the most who know the least. The trick is to stand up to these people and their false allegations that “things are different now”. No actually, they aren’t, or at least not as much as they fondly believe.
