Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

"The Parting Of The Red Sea", by American Artist Arthur Friberg

The Book Of Psalms
Psalm 78

A Contemplation[a] of Asaph.

1. Give ear, O my people, to my law;
Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2. I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings of old,
3. Which we have heard and known,
And our fathers have told us.
4. We will not hide them from their children,
Telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD,
And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

5. For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
6. That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
7. That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments;
8. And may not be like their fathers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that did not set its heart aright,
And whose spirit was not faithful to God.

9. The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows,
Turned back in the day of battle.
10. They did not keep the covenant of God;
They refused to walk in His law,
11. And forgot His works
And His wonders that He had shown them.

12. Marvelous things He did in the sight of their fathers,
In the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13. He divided the sea and caused them to pass through;
And He made the waters stand up like a heap.
14. In the daytime also He led them with the cloud,
And all the night with a light of fire.
15. He split the rocks in the wilderness,
And gave them drink in abundance like the depths.
16. He also brought streams out of the rock,
And caused waters to run down like rivers.

17. But they sinned even more against Him
By rebelling against the Most High in the wilderness.
18. And they tested God in their heart
By asking for the food of their fancy.
19. Yes, they spoke against God:
They said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
20. Behold, He struck the rock,
So that the waters gushed out,
And the streams overflowed.
Can He give bread also?
Can He provide meat for His people?”

21. Therefore the LORD heard this and was furious;
So a fire was kindled against Jacob,
And anger also came up against Israel,
22. Because they did not believe in God,
And did not trust in His salvation.
23. Yet He had commanded the clouds above,
And opened the doors of heaven,
24. Had rained down manna on them to eat,
And given them of the bread of heaven.
25. Men ate angels’ food;
He sent them food to the full.

26. He caused an east wind to blow in the heavens;
And by His power He brought in the south wind.
27. He also rained meat on them like the dust,
Feathered fowl like the sand of the seas;
28. And He let them fall in the midst of their camp,
All around their dwellings.
29. So they ate and were well filled,
For He gave them their own desire.
30. They were not deprived of their craving;
But while their food was still in their mouths,
31. The wrath of God came against them,
And slew the stoutest of them,
And struck down the choice men of Israel.

32. In spite of this they still sinned,
And did not believe in His wondrous works.
33. Therefore their days He consumed in futility,
And their years in fear.

34. When He slew them, then they sought Him;
And they returned and sought earnestly for God.
35. Then they remembered that God was their rock,
And the Most High God their Redeemer.
36. Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth,
And they lied to Him with their tongue;
37. For their heart was not steadfast with Him,
Nor were they faithful in His covenant.
38. But He, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity,
And did not destroy them.
Yes, many a time He turned His anger away,
And did not stir up all His wrath;
39. For He remembered that they were but flesh,
A breath that passes away and does not come again.

40. How often they provoked Him in the wilderness,
And grieved Him in the desert!
41. Yes, again and again they tempted God,
And limited the Holy One of Israel.
42. They did not remember His power:
The day when He redeemed them from the enemy,
43. When He worked His signs in Egypt,
And His wonders in the field of Zoan;
44. Turned their rivers into blood,
And their streams, that they could not drink.
45. He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them,
And frogs, which destroyed them.
46. He also gave their crops to the caterpillar,
And their labor to the locust.
47. He destroyed their vines with hail,
And their sycamore trees with frost.
48. He also gave up their cattle to the hail,
And their flocks to fiery lightning.
49. He cast on them the fierceness of His anger,
Wrath, indignation, and trouble,
By sending angels of destruction among them.
50. He made a path for His anger;
He did not spare their soul from death,
But gave their life over to the plague,
51. And destroyed all the firstborn in Egypt,
The first of their strength in the tents of Ham.
52. But He made His own people go forth like sheep,
And guided them in the wilderness like a flock;
53. And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear;
But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54. And He brought them to His holy border,
This mountain which His right hand had acquired.
55. He also drove out the nations before them,
Allotted them an inheritance by survey,
And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.

56. Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God,
And did not keep His testimonies,
57. But turned back and acted unfaithfully like their fathers;
They were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58. For they provoked Him to anger with their high places,
And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images.
59. When God heard this, He was furious,
And greatly abhorred Israel,
60. So that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh,
The tent He had placed among men,
61. And delivered His strength into captivity,
And His glory into the enemy’s hand.
62. He also gave His people over to the sword,
And was furious with His inheritance.
63. The fire consumed their young men,
And their maidens were not given in marriage.
64. Their priests fell by the sword,
And their widows made no lamentation.

65. Then the Lord awoke as from sleep,
Like a mighty man who shouts because of wine.
66. And He beat back His enemies;
He put them to a perpetual reproach.

67. Moreover He rejected the tent of Joseph,
And did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68. But chose the tribe of Judah,
Mount Zion which He loved.
69. And He built His sanctuary like the heights,
Like the earth which He has established forever.
70. He also chose David His servant,
And took him from the sheepfolds;
71. From following the ewes that had young He brought him,
To shepherd Jacob His people,
And Israel His inheritance.
72. So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart,
And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

"The Prayer at Valley Forge" by Arthur Friberg

Our Father Who Art in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
Blessed Are You, Oh LORD, Our God,
King of The Universe,
Who has brought us to This Day.
For You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise.
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham,
The Ancient of Days
and The Rock of Our Salvation!
How we love You and Thank You Profoundly for Your faithfulness,
even when we are not faithful to You.

We Repent, Father, of allowing it to get this far,
Of Allowing Our Nation to Stray so Far From You,
Of Forgetting You,
Of Relying On Ourselves Instead of You for Our Sustainance,
Of allowing the media, Academia, Hollywood, and the Left to dictate to us
What is right and wrong,
Instead of Your Holy Word!
Of Slipping into complacency and forgetting You, we are so sorry, LORD.
We Thank You for Your Holy Word,
Which Your People have Preserved,
For Us the Wild Olive Branches,
That we may be grafted into Your Beautiful Family,
Adopted as Heirs,
and Strangers no longer.
Thank You for the Unleavened Bread of a Pure heart,
Robed in the Righteousness of Messiah,
Freed from the Slavery and Leaven of the Sin of Egypt.
Thank You For Your Provision, Dear Father.

Dear Father, In these perilous times,
we look to You and Only You!
We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and for the World.
We Pray for Your Blessings to Pour Forth
onto Your People On This Anniversary of 9/11.
We Pray that Our Leaders here in the USA
will see the error of their ways,
and once again stand righteously
with the only real democracy in the Middle East.
We pray for Our Families,
And the Families of Our Brave Troops,
as we face this solemn Day of Remembrance
that we will be safe from rioters and terrorists.
We pray for The People of Israel,
that They will once again be able to visit and pray
at their Holy Places in safety.
We Anxiously Await Messiah
to Come and Make All Things Right!
Hallelujah and Amen

The displayed Scroll contains the text of the Ten Commandments from Deuteronomy 5
and is the best preserved of all the Deuteronomy manuscripts discovered.
A biblical scroll, it is written in Hebrew and dated to ca. 30 – 1 BCE.

Dearest prayer Warriors, My heart Is overwhelmed this Morning.
It is 9/11, and the Burden of this Day is Great.
Beside That, this Thread has been Under Attack for the last Two Days (Coincidentally Rosh Hashanah!) and I have been working with the Mod to keep the Garden Free of Weeds and Snakes.
Today's Psalm is HUGE, and required a lot of formatting, so I chose not to quote it within the Prayer Itself.
Please feel Free to include your 9/11 Prayers on this Day of Remembrance, as we must never forget.
The Psalm is about EXACTLY THAT.

Psalm 37

Exhortation to Patience and Trust
Of David.

1 Do not fret because of the wicked;
do not be envious of wrongdoers,
2 for they will soon fade like the grass,
and wither like the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so you will live in the land, and enjoy security.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
6 He will make your vindication shine like the light,
and the justice of your cause like the noonday.

7 Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him;
do not fret over those who prosper in their way,
over those who carry out evil devices.

8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath.
Do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For the wicked shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

10 Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look diligently for their place, they will not be there.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land,
and delight in abundant prosperity.

12 The wicked plot against the righteous,
and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he sees that their day is coming.

14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
to bring down the poor and needy,
to kill those who walk uprightly;
15 their sword shall enter their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken.

16 Better is a little that the righteous person has
than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.

18 The Lord knows the days of the blameless,
and their heritage will abide for ever;
19 they are not put to shame in evil times,
in the days of famine they have abundance.

20 But the wicked perish,
and the enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures;
they vanish—like smoke they vanish away.

21 The wicked borrow, and do not pay back,
but the righteous are generous and keep giving;
22 for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land,
but those cursed by him shall be cut off.

23 Our steps* are made firm by the Lord,
when he delights in our* way;
24 though we stumble,* we* shall not fall headlong,
for the Lord holds us* by the hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.
26 They are ever giving liberally and lending,
and their children become a blessing.

27 Depart from evil, and do good;
so you shall abide for ever.
28 For the Lord loves justice;
he will not forsake his faithful ones.

The righteous shall be kept safe for ever,
but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
and live in it for ever.

30 The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
and their tongues speak justice.
31 The law of their God is in their hearts;
their steps do not slip.

32 The wicked watch for the righteous,
and seek to kill them.
33 The Lord will not abandon them to their power,
or let them be condemned when they are brought to trial.

34 Wait for the Lord, and keep to his way,
and he will exalt you to inherit the land;
you will look on the destruction of the wicked.

35 I have seen the wicked oppressing,
and towering like a cedar of Lebanon.*
36 Again I* passed by, and they were no more;
though I sought them, they could not be found.

37 Mark the blameless, and behold the upright,
for there is posterity for the peaceable.
38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed;
the posterity of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
he is their refuge in the time of trouble.
40 The Lord helps them and rescues them;
he rescues them from the wicked, and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

This is a very sad Psalm in part. Man does not learn, again and again the same stubborn, rebellious way consumes them.

O Father God, we know not what we do, we are seized by the power of sin in us, and do not realize it. How can we fail to follow the LORD, our Creator,the Most High God, our fortress, our refuge, our high tower, our Shepherd, our Father who loves us and cares for us? Our Father that neither slumbers or sleeps, that is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, who knows the end from the beginning. O Father, quell in man the spirit of rebellion, lest we be lost. Turn our eyes to You and the desire of our heart to be with You and Pleasing to You. You are life, health, safety,You are above every name in Heaven and the Universe., God loves us, and tests us, and chastises us for our good. Forgive us Father and show mercy to Your children. We are sinners, we can do nothing without You. Bless Israel, Bless Jerusalem, Bless the persecuted believers, the Muslims, the lost, our enemies,the children, and give us strength to be who it is we are blessed to be, and bind evil in the land of America, turn our hearts to You Father, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. in Jesus name I pray. amen.
