What is soon? Days? Years? Millenia? There is nothing in the Bible which precludes his return being 1000 years from now. Nor tomorrow. Every single generation since Jesus' crucifixion has thought they were the one which would see Jesus' return. And while eventually one will be right, we have no way of knowing and can only work to be always ready.
