I’m not certain about that point.
I just recall an RC—I think it was the most rabid of the lot no longer seen—who insisted that there was no such “Mary worship” in any such book.
That was enough of a dare for me to get it, read it, see for myself and report back.
Which, LOL, I’ve now done!
IIRC, there may have been some comments about my needing to read the book to understand RC theology better or for my spiritual enlightenment or some such.
Their insight about the horrors of their own stuff is shockingly lacking. That’s one of the things that continues to absolutely amaze me.
We’ve all seen eyes glazed over . . . it’s like their eyes and their brains are glazed over. Very shocking. Persistently shocking.

That's exactly what led me to buy Ratzinger's "need for a global authority with teeth" bilge ("Charity in Truth".)
To see for myself "whether this be so."
And as bad as I thought the encyclical was, and no doubt as bad as you thought the book on Mary worship was, both have exceeded our expectations.
