You couldn’t be more wrong in your opinion.
I know you don’t believe in date-setting, nor do those at the “dispensationalist” schools...and that’s precisely why none have ever set a date, like Camping.
But, most assuredly, if there were no Biblical admonition that “no one knows the hour”, Scofield, Ironside, Walvoord, LaHaye, DeHaan, Lindsey, maybe even Moody himself, would have been scrambling to fix a date.
In fact, some of those early “dispos” did set a date and were discredited.
But can you believe Scofield went through all that intricate date-setting without being tempted to at least guess???? It is to his credit that he didn’t do it.
However, if you were around in 1948, believe me, there were plenty of Moody/Dallas type people who were itching to name a time.
