How much more of a punishment is it to teach a child that there are no consequences for your actions?

“No, no. We think your mommy and mommy are wrong, because women can’t marry women. But that’s ok! We’ll skip over that little issue. No need to enforce it. You can break the law without being punished. You can sin without worry!”

Yeah, I think that’s the wrong message to send. Not only that, but this goes along with the gay men who “got married” in another state and came to Texas to try to get a divorce. It was an attempt to institute gay marriage by default.

Same thing here. If St. Vincent’s accepted the kid with the paperwork showing two mothers, that is tacit approval for gay marriage, a thing the parish does not support.

It’s not punishing the child, it’s enforcing doctrine and rules.
