What ie on the cover of that book? With 20 centuries of beautiful christian are, why do neocatholics cling to these strange images? I esp love the covers of their paperback throwaway missles

For what it's worth, I believe that the Missale shown in the photo is the 2002 Latin Missale Romanum.

That said, I agree that we could use more beautiful and more timeless Christian images... I would be perfectly content with something simple and elegant such as the cross on the binding of the reprinted (originally Benzinger) 1962 Missal.

Our missles used to have that block print style drawing where everyone was drawn with their heads askew - used to drive me crazy (even baby Jesus had a sideways head, no neck)!
