I never heard of a pic line before. What’s that?

I hope it isn’t what my allergist was referring to the other day as a last resort kind of thing.

Is that intravenous nutrition?

Barley is one thing I do test allergic to, although I’m not sure why as it was never really a part of my diet. But I tried a small bit anyway.

Never again. Not worth the consequences.

Lord, please allow MetMom to heal of these terrible allergies. Allow her to eat all the foods she has missed so long. Let her also feel the nourishment of your peace and love. May her recovery be speedy and complete. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen

I had these types of reactions, mostly the breaking out, since I was an infant.

Stress can aggravate allergic responses, that is true, so mental attitude can play a role in the severity of the reaction.

However, the problem is, I will be going along, happily eating something that has hitherto been safe, and within a couple weeks, I am clearly reacting to it and it goes on the don not eat list.

Prayers up for you, dear Sister in Christ!

Do you eat a lot of honey, by any chance? Especially local to your environment?

I can’t any more.

Local honey has helped mr. mm tremendously. Even my allergist recommends eating it. He says it really does work although not quite as good as his shots :)

But for those who can’t do the shots, it’s an option.

Besides, honey has a lot of sugar (no kidding) and makes the yeast go crazy.

That's too bad. Local honey is the answer for a lot of people, I'm just so sorry that it can't help you. And yeah, the yeast side effects aren't fun.

We will keep praying for your answer. Stay strong in the Lord, and rest when He leads you to rest. sharon

I too have problems with allergies. Mine lead to respiratory problems. The only thing that has ever helped me is a thorough liver/gallbladder detox and flush.

Metmom’s situation seems to involve much more of her system. I will be praying for her complete healing and peace for her and her family while she goes through this.

THANKS TONS FOR EVERYONE’S PRAYERS.

A very busy week for me so I won’t be replying to everyone.

KNOW that METMOM is reading this thread—every post.

PRAISE GOD FOR EACH OF YOUR LOVING PRAYERS AND KIND CARING.

Some of you have offered suggestions anyway. That’s OK. I’m saving them to a folder and when the dust settles, if MetMom wishes to read through it—it will be available to her.

BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. THANKS TONS.

Yes. Peripheral Inserted Central Catheter. She had a rough time, although the catheter itself was not too bad. It was the scariest part for her, but I think the worry over the line was the actually the worst part of having one. We have a finicky gut in my family, and that has been really the toughest part. She’s been in and out of hospitals over hers.

However, she is eating now, albeit carefully. Sometimes I know she worried if she would ever get better, this last time it went on for so long, but it did. I hope things work out for you. I have an unhappy gut also, and I know the frustration and worry that takes a toll on you. It’s really rough when something so basic to the way you live your life gives trouble.

I’ll keep praying, and ask a few friends to join in for you.

I’ll gladly ask for God’s help in restoring the health of a fine lady and fellow freerepublic member.

An old friend returned from Vietnam with a strangely similar condition, - no where near this severe.

Prayers up for you, sweetie. May you find the solution.

Please ignore this if you’ve already noted it, but I thought I’d make sure to tell you: topical ANYTHING can get to your bloodstream. Please remove all commercial laundry soaps, shampoos, lotions, topical medications, dry cleaning, makeups, from your skin and use only the purest organic cleaners for laundry (things that touch your skin, like your clothes, towels, and sheets) and bathing. What if you are reacting to something that is getting in through the skin? You can find safe alternatives and test what you do use here: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/

At any rate, I will pray hard for the right solution for you to have a complete healing.
