Gay Marriage and the End of Christian Civilization

euteneuer Pictures, Images and PhotosBack in the 90s when Fr. Paul Marx, founder of HLI, was asked his opinion about the efforts to legalize "same-sex unions" he commented in his usual forthright fashion, "When they do that," he said, "it's the end." He meant "the end" of the Christian civilization whose values used to form the basis of American common life. Fr. Marx, in a prophetic sense, saw rightly that a society cannot survive the perverse manipulation of the very structure of reality that God Himself has revealed to us, one very fundamental element of which is the institution of marriage. When we allow that to be changed-"It's the end."

In 2009, 52% of the voting population in California endorsed Proposition 8 which ratified the constitutional protection of marriage as between a man and a woman. One might argue that even 52% was shockingly low on something so important, but the people won that battle despite the veritable war of the homosexual militants to sink that Proposition. In fact, Christian decency won and the structure of reality stayed intact, at least in this aspect of law in California, until this week when a single judge just nullified 7 million votes and the will of the people and lifted the "ban" on gay marriage. There was rejoicing in Sodom on the Bay, but how sad for our nation and even for our poor, misguided world that will weaken in its opposition to the homosexual lifestyle as a result of this decision.

So why, you ask, is gay marriage wrong? Let me count the ways.

First and foremost is because it violates the revealed Will of God as seen in Scripture. There are few things as clear in God's revelation as the sacred institution of marriage between a man and a woman. From Genesis 1 (the marriage of Adam and Eve) to Revelation 21 (the marriage of Christ the Lamb with His Bride the Church) God has had only one model of marriage, and it is not gay marriage. Even polygamy and divorce was done away with in the Christian Church, as Our Lord reminded all of the essence of marriage as it was "in the beginning." This Christian view of marriage became the norm of Western society and its most basic societal unit, undoubtedly allowing the West to flourish.

A close second to this is that gay marriage distorts the very concept of parenting as well as marriage. Even if you overlook the fact that gay marriage is by definition sterile, every child of a gay marriage has to be adopted or artificially inseminated, and that in itself is a violation of the whole concept of family. In the 80s the Vatican actually said that the adoption of children by homosexuals "does violence" to the child. Pretty strong language, but true nonetheless. In its simplest terms, kids need a mom and a dad, and are forever stigmatized by being the child of a gay marriage. Kids model their lives, their concept of family, their morals and oftentimes their whole worldview on their parents' attitudes and values. These kids get a totally distorted view of all these basics.

Third but by no means the last reason, all of society suffers because of the public endorsement of an intrinsically disordered lifestyle and practice. Yes, "disordered" is what our Church calls both the homosexual orientation and lifestyle, and gay marriage simply ratifies that disorder on a social level. In recent debates, the term "human right" to describe gay marriage and the charge that anyone who stands against it is guilty of "discrimination" are examples of these fundamental distortions. Fr. Marx was right: a society cannot long survive this kind of violence done to its basic values, and history surely shows many societies like Ancient Greece, whose rapid decline was preceded by the proliferation of the gay lifestyle and its public acceptance.

While we respect all people as they are, we don't have to respect such a wholesale assault on everything that is sacred to us and good for our society; no, in fact, we must fight against it with our very lives. The question is not whether or not we can win the battle; the question is whether we will join it. Will we accept the challenge to defend the sacred or not? We are called to be faithful and obedient to the Plan of God for our world, and within that, God will bring forth the victory. There is no doubt that, if it is not already there, gay marriage will be coming to your state soon. If we don't fight it, our souls, our families and basically, our very civilization, will find themselves at "the end" of the line in very short order.

Sincerely,

Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer

You understand. Good post.

Thanks.

The others do not get it, so I will restate it, perhaps then they will.

The gig is up.

The game is over.

We lost.

Sodomy and all that follow it won.

And every evil imaginable will reign.

America the republic as we knew it is dead. Gone.

It cannot and never will come back, be saved, and this will not be undone.

Something else is taking its place.

And our ONLY and I mean ONLY SOLE SINGULAR option, is to help MAKE that new thing such that it is beneficial and benevolent as possible.

Because it CAN be much much worse.

You know when it's over when you are given the final demand: TOLERATE. Not stand for what is right, tolerate what is wrong. And we are told everyday that we must tolerate every evil. The ones who will not tolerate are the ones "attacked" for their intolerance. Our last chance was 9/11. It took less than 90 days to scrub and hide the truth. And to add insult to injury, TOLERATE the evil. For the good of all.

It is indeed over. We were given a final chance. And look where we are.

Yep.

Here is the rub...

If you would have said to ANYONE in 10.11.01 30 days after that we would elect a Muslim named Husien as President and that he may not even be a citizen and that the USSC would not even concider looking into the matter, you would have been mocked to scorn. Yet, here we are.

So let me put this out there.

We WILL BE an Islamic Conquered People in less than one generation.

I know most people here will disagree and make all kinds of excuses why I am going to be wrong. But I can tell you, I am not.

Yep... the ONLY unanswered question is:

How BAD will it get before we go?

That’s the question. We know we are not appointed to God’s Wrath. But the world is being lined up for the tribulation. No doubt. We look around at the stage being set, and we know what is about to happen. All we know for certain is when the Body of Christ is complete, and only God knows who the last member will be, then we’re gone. It’s both fascinating and scary to see this all coming together. Scary, not because we will experience the tribulation, but scary because every day brings us another step closer. And just when you think it’s calmed down a bit, no, here comes something else. So, you are right. How bad can it get before the Body of Christ is complete?

“The people who we are dealing with have no moral compass and will stop at nothing to silence (permanently) their opposition.”

When evil attacks, you have only two options: fight back, or go under.

I have family members who are not saved..and it breaks my heart..but we all must stand before God, alone, and..it's just too hard to talk about sometimes, you know?..

Yeah, we have guns and ammo, but food supplies for an extended period? No. I don't think that once it starts, we're going to be around for long. For one thing, the Antichrist won't be revealed until after we are gone. We do know that things can change on a dime. Overnight.

The most we can do right now, is be ready with the Gospel, pray for our loved ones, and keep our eyes to the sky. Maranatha!

A piece of paper from the gubberment doesn’t make anyone more or less married, according to my faith, no matter the legal benifits it can give. It’s just a shame that the gov’t has the power to punish if one disagrees with the state’s bizarre and mutating definition of marriage.

Government has an almost perfect record of messing up whatever it is involved with. Like marriage. On the other hand, my faith has a perfect record and has never forced anyone to accept impossibilities like “gay marriage”. If it was left to folks’s faiths, I would be free to accept someones marriage based on what my faith says about it, not whatever the state claims. Sexualy active homsexualists commit sin even if they have a piece of paper from the gubberment, and there is nothing that the state can do about it. There is also nothing the gubberment can do to stop God blessing real marriage.

The gov’t is ‘probly never going to give up its involvement in marriage, to that institution’s detriment. It affords too much control in the culture, and is a great weapon for the Enemy. Do you think the homosexualists want the gubberment to quit defining marriage? Not hardly. They want gov’t to be able to regulate marriage, or at least fool folks into thinking it does, forcing and conditioning folks to accept an impossibility like “gay marriage, contrary to what their faith teaches about it.

The bottom line is that true Christianity and many other faiths are never going to change the true definition of marriage, which is very comforting. After all, that’s really all that matters.

I am all over those threads. Yeah.

I think it will hurt Dems in the Election, but I do not think this election will change anything. The mosque will be built, the population will fall, abortion will continue, open homosexuality will become the law of the land, the usurper MAY even win a 2nd term. And the rapture can’t come soon enough!

But until then, I preach, organize, fight and educate.

You are in my prayers and I would ask if you would keep me in yours. I do just about the same things, and it’s nice to know someone is lifting you up! Maranatha!

Interesting that this letter was posted on the vigil of the Feast of St. Maximilian.

I hope that refusing to acknowledge homosexual “marriage” becomes a crime. I look forward to going to jail for this. That’s where a Christian belongs in a pagan culture anyway — in jail, or in the Coliseum. If they don’t hate you, you’re not doing the job Christ sent you to do.

I don't "hope" that...but I acknowledge its inevitability. And I pray for God to give me perseverance when that day finally comes. And I pray that God fills my heart with the charity needed to truly forgive those who will do this to us when the day comes.

They want a culture war? Let’s give them a culture war. Let’s fill their jails to the rafters with singing, victorious Christians. Let’s show them we can’t be broken, cajoled, compromised with, or enslaved. Let’s show them that, like Jesus, all they can do is kill us.

And the Father will use the blood of the martyrs the same as He always has done...as sacrifices in union with the eternal and sufficing sacrifice of His Son. And consider the results of the blood of the martyrs during the early years of His Church.

Christians in America need a significant revival before they’re going to be up for that.

Perhaps we will see first hand the parable of the sower...
