Is Glenn Beck Saved? (A Short Review of Mormonism)
The Ignorant Fishermen Blog ^ | 8/5/10 | Kelly Sensenig

Glenn Beck is one of the most popular political commentators in the United States. Between his TV show, and nationally syndicated talk-radio show, Beck reaches millions of Americans every day with his commentary about politics. Glenn Beck is also a convert to the Mormon faith, joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1999 along with his wife and children. However, his recent comments regarding God, salvation, and the Gospel on his TV show have caused some evangelical Christians to contemplate the salvation of Glenn Beck, even as a member of the Mormon Church.

We know that it’s the desire of political conservatives, constitutionalists, and Christians to take back America and stop the socialistic trends in this country. We are grateful for Glenn Beck and others like him who are standing behind the constitution and foundational basis of this country. Every evangelical Christian should support them in these goals. However, in sharing this common goal and desire we must be careful to not cross the line and become undiscerning in our theology and assessment of those who may only be masking as Evangelical Christians or “transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ” (2 Cor. 11:13-15).

Satan means (Adversary)... one who stands against. Remember The Lord Jesus called Simon Peter… Satan...because his good intentions and personal views stood in the way and before the Lord Jesus and the salvation of the world.

Matthew 16:23 (King James Version)
23But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

An angel of light is any who stand in the way of Almighty God and His program.. They look good.. even righteous…but reject the reality and abc’s of the Bible. Beware of False prophets… wolf’s in sheeps clothing!! Also.. for the record.. I did not write this post...

I hope that helps..
I.F.

Because I want ALL to know Christ in Spirit and Truth as the Bible teaches. In the end it is crucial for one’s eternity. All will give an account and all need the Savior (John 3:16-17)!

This was not a condescending piece... but one based on compassion and a burden that many would be challenged to trust the Christ of the Holy Scriptures... That is all..

Do you know Him as the Bible clearly teaches?.. I would like to encourage you to do this study ..it can’t hurt.. see for your self!

I know one thing for certain.

Glenn Beck is on my side.

I have no problem sharing a foxhole with him.

Ansel12. What part of “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” do you not understand. Muslims do not proclaim Jesus as Lord.

Not at all... I have great respect for Glenn. He tells it like it is and I love that honesty. His religious beliefs.. or spiritual philosophy is just that.. I desire for Him to know the Lord in Spirit and truth as God’s Word (the Bible) teaches. It is more of a burden for his eternal well being that this post was posted.

We humans cannot make that judgment. I’m not going to try to take God’s job away from him.

The subject was the Mormon religion calling itself Christian, the Hindus, Jewish and Muslim religions don’t claim to be Christian.

Now that some Mormon experts are showing up on this thread, I think that they can explain what the Mormon religion’s use of Jesus consists of.

My dear friend.. We will disagree on this.. but Faith in Christ alone saves or delivers ones soul....in the Day of Judgment (John 1:12, Eph 2:8,9, Romans 6:23) not by any outward act… infant baptism.. etc.. I was raised Catholic etc... and was sincere in my practice but it was not until I started to read God’s word and saw that salvation is of Almighty God and not me… by faith in Christ alone (Eph 2:8-9, Rom 5:1). When Glenn or any one else trust God in this manner as the Bible teaches.. He will be saved. It does not matter what denomination he is in. If that individual gets saved then eventually he will leave that present denomination and find an assembly that teaches God’s Word.

10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
(1 John 5:10-15)
I personally do not know what would happen to Glenn if he contradicted the Mormon church’s teachings…most likely he would get the boot..

Dave

ABSOLUTLY!! iT IS NOT A DENOMINATION OR ONE OWN’S PERSONAL VIEW OF CHRIST ETC.. IT IS ALL BASED ON THE GOD’S WORD AND REMEDY FOUND IN CHRIST.
tHE gREAT VERSE STATES IT ALL! (John 3:16-17)
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world (ALL); but that the world(All) through him might be saved.

In the end it is not a religion (a spiritual philosophy) but a relationship in Spirit and truth (John 4:24).

If God’s grace is for everyone, shouldn’t that include Mormons too, despite what their doctrine is?

IMO, to say that their doctrine (which dictates their actions) affects their access to grace is saying that their is another element, outside of God’s grace alone, which is required for salvation. Either grace is enough for everyone, or it is not.

I’m perfectly okay saying that they are excluded from salvation based on their beliefs, according to my beliefs. Then, I must be okay with them professing the converse.

If there is no claim to exclusion from salvation, why do all of the different Christian sects war so vehemently with each other about who is right?

This is the most ridiculous thread, in a long line of ridiculous threads regarding Mr. Beck. He does not proselytize, he does not require or even request you convert to his faith -- I will ask again, what possible difference does it make to you or anyone else that when his soul leaves his human body, it is accepted into heaven or not?

You may think you are not condescending -- why single Beck out? Where are the threads asking if Dick Morris is saved? How about any other TV/radio pundits, maybe even those who profess no religion whatever, are they saved too?? Does your compassion reach only so far and no further?

I know Him as HE has revealed Himself to me.

Show us the "attack" words.

It may be that you have missed the point.

The comment regarded those who do attack. The comment does not apply if there were no "attack".

Nevertheless, I repeat the observation of Harold “Kim” Philby, famous Soviet Spy, “To Betray you must first belong” . He implies that stealth attacks will be more successful. Tyranny always appears first as a benevolent power to protect you.

“If there is no claim to exclusion from salvation, why do all of the different Christian sects war so vehemently with each other about who is right?”

If you think of the Body of Christ as a giant campsite with each denomination getting a tent... Most fights are caused by disagreements over how to contruct the tents and how to anchor them to the ground.
