Don't forget what St. Paul said about the Crucifixion of Our Lord. "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumbling block, and unto the Gentiles foolishness." If the death of Our Lord itself is a "stumbling block" and "foolishness," then it's not surprising that to some eyes, something lesser, such as the veneration of the saints' relics, would appear to be "ridiculous."
That is the biggest leap to ridiculous conclusions I think I've ever seen. Evil Kneivel himself could not have made that jump. Nor would he have attempted it.
If it’s all about Jesus, what’s with all the useless relics?
The time and money spent on them and the pomp and circumstance surrounding their existence could be better spent advancing the Gospel.
Or feeding the hungry.
Or clothing the poor.
All this ridiculous excess from a church that cries *poverty* all the time.
John 6:63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.
