To clarify, I read the Barna report and saw where they said 40-50% of all marriages end in divorce, but nothing about pastors’ marriages.
I know about 40 pastors well enough to know their marriage histories. Only one I know has been divorced. He is in his sixties now, but in his twenties his wife walked out on him, got excommunicated, left the church. He has since remarried, successfully.
I wonder about those stats, too. There are two members of our church who have been divorced. In both cases, it happened before they even became Christians. Would they count as born again Christian who got divorced?
