I don’t know. Can anybody who has been batized for the dead in an LDS temple enlighten us? Do you pay or get paid?

No, all temple work is volunteer (even the workers) and at your own expense (travel, clothing etc).
Baptisms for the dead are usually done by teenagers and often done as ‘field trips’. 1 person will go in and be baptized repeatedly (10 -20 times in rather rapid succession) on behalf of the names that are read or appear on a screen.
Endowments are most common and done by individual adult members who have already gone through for themselves.
Sealings (marriages) are usually done by married couples but do not have to be.
It is basically an assemby line operation.
For the privilege of doing the endowment work one must be a full tithe payer. Don't know if Gladys Knight and the Pips offer any entertainment for that ten percent or if she can get in wearing her work clothes.
