Soooooooooooooo,
IF we Proddys applied our personal experience stats of the RC’s we know . . .
what percentage of all the self-labeled RC’s that we know in our interpersonal networks
are really earnestly practicing truly spiritual folks?
5%? 20%? 25%?
Let’s say it’s 25% . . . wouldn’t that mean that only about 300,000,000 were authentic Roman Catholics?
But there may be a huge flaw in those assumptions.
It SOUNDS LIKE . . . half or more of the 1.2 billion may well not even be actively claiming they are RC’s in any significant real sense. They may have never darkened a church door since infant baptism or some such.
25% of half of 1.2 billion would be . . .
59,9999,975
There must be a way to find some fairly decent and reliable stats about such things given all the religious and sociological research that goes on.
I wonder what
dogpiling
at dogpile.com
would turn up from
“CLAIMED ROMAN CATHOLIC BELIEVERS VS ACTUAL”
or some such search string.
It kind of depends some on just what defines a *real* Catholic, and who you talk to for that definition.
If the Catholics could agree on the parameters, then maybe they could get an accurate head count.
