Did Jesus Christ call others to venerate, honor, WHATEVER, Mary? No. THAT’S the point, D-. Not that veneration is an act of honoring, but less than worshipping, or more than dulia, or less than latria.. or WHATEVER. The point is, He said “Yea, RATHER..” NOT “Yea”. It’s about hearing the word of God, and keeping it, not Mary. Or at least that’s what Christ said. Want to argue veneration/honor/worship/dulia/hyperdulia/latria with Him?

I guess now it is. Before, with your scripture proofs, your point was somehow that Jesus was intending to diminish his mother. Ok. We've solved that one. No, new point.

Why is Mary special? Well, obviously she holds a unique role. Where is special honor for her found in Scripture? In Luke:

When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb,
and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said,
"Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled."
And Mary said:
"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior.
For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.
Which is what the Church does.

Perhaps scripture is saying Elizabeth filled with Holy Spirit turned out to be wrong and that Mary turned out to be wrong or lying.

We don't think so and we give her special honor. Each of us has a different mother we can honor in our separate ways, but all of us have the same Saviour whose mother we can give special honor. You can do as you wish of course, but this is the way we see it.
