Sorry, Simeon knew Jesus was the Messiah when Mary and Joseph presented Him in the temple.

The differences then would be that Mary was informed by the angel Gabriel, Peter received a divine revelation from God the Father and Simeon upon whom the Holy Ghost already rested received a divine revelation from the Holy Ghost.
