Okay. I was wrong.
I wish you would write a pamphlet or a monograph then explaining your observations, research and perspective.
That process has been 2-4 decades long depending on what parts and stages we are talking about.
There are better pamphlets out there. I don't have any great need to add to such.
Maybe I can throw out some related observations. I don't think they are exclusively RC/Proddy in nature. I think they are true across all groups.
1. RELIGION AS RELIGION . . . A HUMAN SYSTEM . . . TENDS TO BECOME INCREASINGLY HOLLOW, PHONEY AND DEADLY REGARDLESS OF THE TYPE OR LABEL.
2. MOST RELIGIOUS authorities become increasingly tyrannical and arrogant the longer they are in power and the more serfs/sheeple they can collect under them.
3. There's not a LOT of rhyme or reason to a LOT of RELIGIOUS RULES--too often--even thouse purportedly founded on Scripture--RC/Evangelical or whatever. They arise out of power-mongering, ego needs, !!!!TRADITIONS!!!!, !!!!CONTROL!!!! freque-ism, FEARS, manipulation games, IN-GROUP/OUT-GROUP games . . . etc.
4. HUMILITY, BROKENNESS, COMPASSION, LOVE ETC. are hallmarks of authentic spirituality but NOT necessarily always warm and fuzzy and certainly not weak, passsive, wimpy.
5. The core of walking a Spirit-filled walk with God is relatively simple and straight-forward. LOVING GOD FOREMOST, OTHERS AS SELF, DOING UNTO OTHERS . . . pretty well covers it.
7. THEREFORE, NOW, AS 2000 years ago with the pharisees . . . all the OTHER POMP AND CIRCUMSTANCE HOOPLA . . . HAIR-SPLITTING, REQUIREMENTS, DOGMA, RITUALS, . . . WORKS . . . REGARDLESS OF DENOMINATION OR LABEL OR BUREAUCRATIC STRUCTURE . . . is chaff--hoopla in the worst of terms.
Thus endeth the lesson, the pamphlet, the pontifications on this score at the moment . . . LOL.

how they sought and related to God or otherwise.
And how God responded . . .
and the place Scripture and Holy Spirit had in such lives . . . or didn’t.
The PhD dissertation was a small formal subset of such research. It did end up confirming some of my observational impressions. Though one was not confirmed.
