“I believe, that God gave us his inspired words to be the guide for our faith.”
Yes. The Church teaches that. God sent The Word to us for our Salvation.
“It SHOULD be at the top of the heap as far as authority. “
Again, that is the essence of Catholic teaching. Both what was written down and what was said to the Apostles.
“Traditions, and EVERYBODY has them, should be measured by this source if they have to do with doctrines of the faith.”
NOTHING in the Catholic Tradition contradicts in any way the Holy Writ. Nothing.

NOTHING in the Catholic Tradition contradicts in any way the Holy Writ. Nothing. Okay...cool! Why the insistence that Scripture AND Tradition are equal then? What would be wrong in saying tradition is subordinate to Scripture? I could live with that.

NOTHING in the Catholic Tradition contradicts in any way the Holy Writ. Nothing. Then what's the point in having the traditions, and why the need to declare that traditions are on equal par with Scripture?
Why not just go to Scripture then and forget the traditions stuff since it's redundant?

Saying it doesn't make it so. The proof is in the pudding - this thread AND THE ARTICLE ITSELF say otherwise AND Scripture Itself......
As he was speaking, a woman in the crowd raised her voice, "God bless your mother--the womb from which you came, and the breasts that nursed you!"
Jesus replied, "But even MORE BLESSED are ALL who HEAR the Word of God and OBEY IT."

Mary is crowned Queen of heaven and earth, dispenser of all graces . . .
She became Queen of Purgatory, where she exercises her power as mediatrix in behalf of these suffering souls.
She became Queen of us sinners, to assist us through the dangers of this life and to help us in difficulties.
She became the ruler of hell, that trembles at her slightest gaze and is defeated by her power.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come; Thy kingdom come through Mary! --Partial Indulgence
"Mary is the tree of life to those who grasp her, and he is happy who hold her fast."
"Hail Mary, beloved daughter of the Father, Mother of the Divine Son, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, complement of the most august Trinity!"
To her was granted grace greater than that conferred upon all others, 'that she might vanquish sin in every respect.'
