There is nothing wrong with debating truth and falsehood...much is learned thru this process...but come to the table with an opinion and expect there will be differences in how scripture is 'applied'... The problem arises when you might see the truth and it disagrees with what Rome is telling you. That is the dilemma faced for catholics and of which this former Priests testimony reflects clearly.
The catholic church membership must abide and apply scripture by what Rome and the Pope determine. You are bound to that as you know. Non-catholics are Free to determine how they will apply scripture and of course there are those who abuse that freedom just as there is in any given area where freedom abounds. We see that in our country as well.
But no, I have not confirmed your statement by any means...it is how we differ in applying what we know to be true..but catholics must still abide by the dictates of the Pope and Rome...by what is true as well as how they apply it.
Since Catholics refuse to believe the Protestants version of bible truth, we know Catholics do not read the bible according to MY interpretation.
You are still confirming this statement by saying:
“It’s how they are applied to support ones truth and or ones falsehood. So someone is wrong in how they are applying it.”
It’s YOUR interpretation.
We don’t believe YOUR interpretation therefore we are wrong.
“... and of which this former Priests testimony reflects clearly.”
What is reflected is that he is a LIAR. You are grasping onto the ‘testimony” of a clear liar. Why? Are lies acceptable in your cult?
