But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

You can't get any one of them to respond to those verses...They refuse...

I'll bet that scripture doesn't exist in their catechism or their code of canon law...

Then, accordingly each “person” of the Trinity would share the same will and consciousness in the triune “community, being”?

That is blasphemous -- the Church teaches that Mary is the Mother of God the Son, Jesus Christ and yet she was also created by Him

Maybe when it comes down to the brass tacks but in normal conversation, you guys claim Mary is the Mother of God...You just don't bother to mention that she is the Mother of God the Son...Slips the mind of millions of Catholics, I guess...

Christ died for our sins. Did He himself have / inherit original sin?

The scripture says Jesus Christ became sin for us...What do you think it means???

The Word of God-Implicit on 99% of their beliefs

Catechism and The Code of Canon Law-Explicit 100%

Something is VERY wrong...

"And you guys claim your religion isn't a religion of a book...HaHaHa...

As opposed to a theological free-for-all in which each man is his own alter pontiff and each day brings new schisms and denominations hotly contesting the meaning of Scripture.

You are free to choose the earth-hippie, "feel good", totally empowered, new age, profane environment in which to worship but I will take order, logic and fidelity over that any day.

Personhood in the Trinity does not match the common Western understanding of "person" as used in the English language—it does not imply an "individual, self-actualized center of free will and conscious activity".

I wasn't curious as to what you felt a person wasn't...I'm curious as to what you feel a perosn of the Godhead IS...

To the ancients, personhood "was in some sense individual, but always in community as well."

This is extremely vague...It's like you claim that the Trinity is three persons but you admit you don't have a clue what that means...

Each person is understood as having the one identical essence or nature, not merely similar natures.

I think we can understand how they are alike...How are they different from each other??? What makes them 3 individually???

Apologies, but in any case, the post was not meant for you, it was meant for the guy who can only read in multi-colored fonts. The rest of you can pretty much ignore it as it is just repasting of colored-font-text from the Quixotic one.

We don't have problems with different colored fonts...They're kinda purdy...

This from the same guy who thought that the Pope did not wash the feet of 12 on Maundy Thursday? I'll take you up on that offer -- how much are you willing to bet?

"Something is VERY wrong..."

Is that your own personal guess or something you picked up at a tent meeting? You might want to support that nonsense to avoid automatic Quixotic irrelevance and Eckleburgian implausibility.

Invoking Scripture as if it applied uniquely to your position when it could equally support your opponent is either disingenuous or stupid.

I'm leaning toward disingenuous only because I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt for actually being bright enough to be a doctor. Feel free to prove me wrong.

When a religion takes on the tendancies and characteristics of that religion in Matt. 23, as yours does, it's pretty clear biblically that those verses posted by the good Doctor are directed at that religion and those of the same ilk...

You can wallow in the mud and claim you're clean, but......

Something I picked up from comparing your church's beliefs/teaching to Scripture. And then, this most recent post of yours. "Order"?? and "Logic"??? Maybe, in your canon or your catechism. Certainly NOT in the way you attempt to explain Scripture. You know, the EXPLICIT Word of God.

Hmmm... interesting question. I don't know the answer to that. If I could hazard a guess, I would say that about consciousness -- I do not believe that God shares the same "characteristics" as us, His creatures, so whatever "will" or "consciousness" He has is quite different from ours in the same way (albeit with MUCH more difference) as a bacteria has will and/or consciousness compared to us. Keeping that in mind, I would hazard a guess that the anthropomorphic "will" of the Godhead is one, yes. I don't believe we can extrapolate our concept of "consciousness" to God as He has no beginning and no end, hence we cannot have any analogy.

God is one and yet three -- that we know clearly from Matthew 28:20 "go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" --> the word used for "name" was/is singular. It was not "baptizing them in the names and yet there were three "names" given -- incomprehensible to us humans who live in a constricted reality compared to God.

I wasn't meaning to say scripture doesn't exist in your canon...I was speaking of THAT particular scripture...And if I'm wrong, prove it...

Actually, no, it does not slip the mind of all members of Christ's One Holy Apostolic and Catholic Church. We always know and knew and will know that Mary is the Mother of God, Jesus Christ. It is in the Nicene Creed "For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. "

She was the Theotokos which translates as "God-bearer" or "the one who gives birth to God" as it's purest direct translation.

Thanks for your kind words.

Amazing today.

It seems like the posts . . . starkly out of sync with the language and realities . . . with the basic truths involved . . .

are much more abundant than usual.

Maybe Alice visited them in the night with more of the elixer of convolutions and theological fantasies.
