But the idea is a total fabrication....There is nothing to base the fable on...And it goes against the word of God in the scriptures...
THANKS for y’all’s posting such puzzle pieces.
I see the jerk-force is out in abundance tonight.
Luther was excommunicated after the Church demand that he rescind 41 of his 95 theses, Decet Romanum Pontificem. There was no other sentence passed upon him.
That Luther died of old age, fat and rich, belies the modern Protestant storyline that the Church was an omnipotent Machiavellian syndicate with KGB like hit squads.
When those on your side are brazenly willing to make the idiotic UNBIBLICAL assertion that Mary is the Mother of Almighty/Father God . . . none of y’all’s complaints against the worst of the Proddys hold a molecule of water any more by, comparison.
Sheesh.
Doesn’t sound like that trust worked out very well for a lot of altar boys.
I propose we leave Hitler off this thread. Those wishing to see the posts and links and quotes back and forth can visit any other previous long thread and review them at their leisure.
Thanks for that - but then that puts me back to my initial conundrum, as Christ did *not* do as the Pharisees said. He was all up in their face.
This particular verse is part of what I am studying right now, so it is simple for me to come up with several instances where Christ defied the authority of the Pharisees directly - but to my knowledge, he did not defy the Torah.
So if Christ is our example, then something is off in the translation/interpretation of this verse.
INDEED.

It’s not just one fabrication . . . it’s a long list of fantasies . . . stretching out over centuries.
Incredible
So; the Apostles didn't recognize Jesus after all that time. The Scriptures are there for all the heathen and pagan to read. Too bad it doesn't really appeal to the heretics.
So then it was one of your own heretical Catholics that posted that item??? I only copied what was posted by the Catholic...
When the two disciples encountered Jesus on the road to Emmaus, as told in Luke, after hearing them speak of the events in Jerusalem, Jesus then "interprets to them the things about himself in all the Scriptures", yet it is not until the "blessing and breaking of the bread" that their eyes were opened and they recognized him.
But regardless, what about the scripture that you seem to be referring to???
Luk 24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. Luk 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
What? Don't tell my you are wrong again...Bible says they didn't recognize Jesus because their eyes were holden...
Luk 24:29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. Luk 24:30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. Luk 24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
And then your fellow Catholic tells us that they recognized Jesus when they saw Him in the Eucharist...
So the scripture lied to us again and your religion got it right???
Jesus messed with their eyes so they could not recognize Him and then later He opened their eyes just before He left...It had nothing to do with bread and wine...
All you have to do is believe what you read...
What’s the purpos in
OBSCURING the doctrine of the Trinity???
It’s the implicit assumption of “goddess” that wafts through Romanists theology that makes it an invalid conclusion.
If they didn’t treat her like one it wouldn’t be an issue.

ANATHEMA (Catholic Encyclopedia): "...Wherefore in the name of God the All-powerful, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, of the Blessed Peter, Prince of the Apostles, and of all the Saints, in virtue of the power which has been given us of binding and loosing in Heaven and on earth, we deprive Nhimself and all his accomplices and all his abettors of the Communion of the Body and Blood of Our Lord, we separate him from the society of all Christians, we exclude him from the bosom of our Holy Mother the Church in Heaven and on earth, we declare him excommunicated and anathematized and we judge him condemned to eternal fire with Satan and his angels and all the reprobate, so long as he will not burst the fetters of the demon, do penance and satisfy the Church; we deliver him to Satan to mortify his body, that his soul may be saved on the day of judgment."
"...condemned to eternal fire with Satan."
Either RCs are ignorant of what their church teaches, or they will say anything to make a point; a point which changes daily.
Thanks for your kind reply.
“Men’s hearts failing them for fear . . . “
Some heavy stuff coming down the Pike.
And so the revelation of God the Father to Peter was very important:
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. - Matthew 16:15-18
