Good. I do wonder how a self proclaimed "unitarian" can accept the Trinitarian dogmatic view of t us Catholics but I welcome your words. As for those who live to demean, today's Gospel speaks to them.

It isn't necessary for me to accept any particular doctrine in order to accept that many millions of Catholics have complete faith in God.

"It's the Vatican's own words that do the hoisting."

In a discussion of the actual teachings of the Catholic Church you really, really look compromised when you insist that the actual teachings of the Church be excluded. It reveals that you only want to make a point and do not care what the truth might be.

Why don't you explain why you think you are qualified to offer a valid opinion on Church doctrine and dogma without any direct quotations or study of the subject and why that same standard is not to be applied to any other endeavor such as science, medicine or law.

Agreed. Much of Catholic Doctrine is backed up by Scripture.

An honest answer is refreshing on a thread like this. Good for you! It doesn't surmount all differences, of course, but it's a good start.

They gave Paul and Barnabas “the right hands of fellowship” (Gal. 2:9). When they “perceived THE GRACE that was given” to Paul. I really don’t think they signed off on it...but go ahead if that’s what you believe is “presenting his material to the Council for approval.” What were they going to do, reject his material? It was given to him by direct revelation of Jesus Christ.

Just as I am quick to challenge you when I disagree I want to be a quick to acknowledge you when I think you are right. Thank you.

Oh NOOOO. You must have me confused with someone else. I WANT them included. They speak for themselves. Believe me. I want EVERYONE to see what the Vatican teaches.

Why is it [ROMAN] catholics always state what could any other than themselves know about the [ROMAN] catholic faith. Sheesh...

Because . . . ummmmm . . . I know . . . ummmmmm . . . uhhhh . . .

BECAUSE! . . . JUST BECAUSE!

. . .

Because . . . ummmmm . . . IF RC's didn't have that handy weasel-out,

THEY'D HAVE TO FACE THE TRUTHS OF THE GOSPEL

and unrubbery history

and unrubbery authentic Bibles

and unrubbery authentic dictionaries

A

LOT

MORE OFTEN! How would they get any sleep?

1. THEY ARE BRAINWASHED RELENTLESSLY THAT ONLY THEIR EXCLUSIVELY 'NURTURING,' EXCLUSIVELY RIGHT, EXCLUSIVELY KOSHER, EXCLUSIVELY SAFE, EXCLUSIVELY TOP-DOG, EXCLUSIVELY WISE, EXCLUSIVELY PRISTINE, EXCLUSIVELY SANCTIFIED, EXCLUSIVELY WHITE HANKYED MOTHER CHURCH HAS THE TRULY TRUEST TRULY TRUE TRUTH.[sorry, no gag alert]

2. AND THAT if the Vatican magicsterical's exclusivist monopoly is tarnished or threatened between their ears in the slightest, hell's maw will gape wide for them.

3. AND THAT when their irrational pontifications manifestly function like the sieve their construction dictates, it's about all they have left--to wail about "Proddys JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND; CAN'T UNDERSTAND; WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND" because Proddys are supposedly destined to be ostracised out-group pagans by God, on the MOTHER-OF-GOD'S orders. Because it's white hankys for those within THE IN-GROUP and black pokers for those without. JUST BECAUSE!

4 AND BECAUSE they seemingly CAN'T WRAP THEIR NOGGINS AROUND THE IDEA that ANY OUT-GROUP individuals could ever REALLY UNDERSTAND "THE SYSTEM." Including the former bosses and officials of THE SYSTEM who had the horse sense to leave

and HAVE a TRULY VIBRANT RELATIONSHIP with GOD

instead of a RELIGION WITH SHADOWS AND PLASTIC STATUES.

Your continuous ‘anti Catholic’ choice of words to describe Bible believing Christians shows a ‘victim’ mentality and so very liberal.

Anyone who believes that God didn’t give us ALL He wants us to know - in HIS WORD - so he needs ‘man’s input and authority - is hardly a victim. More like a persecutor of God’s Word - that Jesus, The Living Word, isn’t enough.

You might want to rethink your ‘anti-Catholic’ words or you can wear the tag “anti-God’s Word Alone - Jesus/The Living Word isn’t enough - need man, also”.

I don’t see anyone making a statue of the Bible and placing candles to light in front of it and praying to it.

INDEED.

Nor crawling miles . . . up stairs, on glass . . . to kiss ‘the Bible’s toes.’

"Your continuous ‘anti Catholic’ choice of words to describe Bible believing Christians shows a ‘victim’ mentality and so very liberal."

Ad hominem is never a substitute for fact. I use the term "anti-Catholic" only because it is descriptive and accurate. Even you had no problem knowing exactly who I am referring to.

And for the record Catholics are Bible believing Christians. To assert anything else is ...anti-Catholic. Catholics believe in the entire revealed Word of God and do not spiritually impoverish ourselves by recognizing only a redacted subset of the Written Word of God.

Well then lets have a list, other than Catholic resources themselves, which one might use as a resource acceptable to catholics...would that fix the problem? I think not...for what I have seen over and over again is no matter what source is used.... the person and the source are immediately condemmned. and very lucky if it’s even read to consider.

======

INDEED. And EVEN IF the sources are the Vatican's own documents . . . even the Catechism . . .

if the particular page and paragraph doesn't agree with the particular rabid clique or other RC poster, then THE DOC IS STILL WRONG and by extension, the Proddy who searched out the source.

TALK ABOUT BRAZEN DOUBLE STANDARD, WEASEL WORDS AND OTHERWISE BRAZEN UNMITIGATED HOGWASH!

I know atheists who'd be embarrassed to be guilty of such a lack of intellectual and other integrity.

Jesus blood purifies us from all sin. There’s no need to burn for uncounted years to pay for your sins that were forgiven by Him. All the RCC teaches with that heretical doctrine is that Jesus death on the cross wasn’t sufficient to pay for ALL our sins.

If you’re burning, don’t get too excited about having *made it*. Your stay is going to be a lot longer than you expect.

==

WELL PUT.

redacted subset of the Written Word of God.

What is this? What would a redacted subset be?

We do not NEED to post obscure website posts. Your fellow RC's post all the time from your Catechism, and Second Vatican Council, and etc. The quotes from THESE sources are enough to convince any one who can read that it's actually WORSE than we could ever invent. There were some just posted some this morning regarding Mary and the Holy Spirit. And no, I will NOT go back and find them for you.

ABSOLUTELY INDEED. That's one of the more shocking things, to me. Quite often when they mount a defense, they only succeed in digging their hole wider and deeper. And they seem to have no clue about that. 0.000000% insight. Shocking.
