Could it be the kick against the prick!

I really do not have any idea what this means. Would you expound on this?

***

man’s conscience

Acts 9: 5
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Acts 26: 14
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

D&C 121: 38
38 Behold, ere he is aware, he is left unto himself, to kick against the pricks, to persecute the saints, and to fight against God.

“kick against the goads”, a Greek proverb for useless resistance where the ox only hurts themselves.
Is that what you are trying to say here?
