Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The Book of Psalms
Psalm 25

1.[a] To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;

2. in you I trust, O my God.
Do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.

3. No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame,
but they will be put to shame
who are treacherous without excuse.

4. Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;

5. guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

6. Remember, O LORD,
your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.

7. Remember not the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you are good, O LORD.

8. Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

9. He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.

10. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

11. For the sake of your name, O LORD,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

12. Who, then, is the man that fears the LORD ?
He will instruct him in the way chosen for him.

13. He will spend his days in prosperity,
and his descendants will inherit the land.

14. The LORD confides in those who fear him;
he makes his covenant known to them.

15. My eyes are ever on the LORD,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.

16. Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.

17. The troubles of my heart have multiplied;
free me from my anguish.

18. Look upon my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.

19. See how my enemies have increased
and how fiercely they hate me!

20. Guard my life and rescue me;
let me not be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.

21. May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope is in you.

22. Redeem Israel, O God,
from all their troubles!

Strong To Save,

and Infinitely Merciful and Just,

Abba,We Thank You for the Chastening
that comes with being Your Child.
We know that a negligent Parent does NOT discipline his son,
And that a GOOD Parent DOES.
When we are chastened we DON'T like it,
and it hurts, but it makes us better people.
And it brings us closer to YOU!
Please open the eyes of those of us
who do not yet recognize the Blessed Olive Tree from which we have sprung.

We pray for an END to Lies,
Slander, Blood Libel,
Propaganda, and Antisemitism
against Your Beloved.
We Pray For An End to Slavery,
Hostage-Taking, and Piracy
wherever it is Practiced Around the World.
We Beseech You on Behalf of Our Captive Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
In Bondage in Hostile lands,
Especially in Egypt, Somalia, Europe,
Pakistan, Iraq and Iran,
and Especially in Malmo, Sweden,
where we see Persecution on the scale of the 1930's.

We pray also for the lost Children of Esau and Ishmael,
That they will throw down their weapons,
And embrace the One True God of Abraham,

For We Know, It is NOT Your Will that ANY Should perish,
As You have said in Your Word.

We Pray For Bibi Netayahu,
and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.

Today's Text is the Next Breathtaking Psalm of David, Psalm 25.
As Well as having a Little Spiritual Warfare in the Garden Yesterday, I had some Earthly Warfare as well.
You Will NEVER Believe what happened to me yesterday.
I was sitting in the park,
practicing my bass guitar.
It was Sunset, and I was alone
Suddenly a car pulled up,
and FOUR youths got out,
brandishing BASEBALL BATS!
They were walking in my direction.
I calmly unplugged the bass from the amp, and stood up,
with legs astride,
wielding the huge,
long-necked instrument over my head like a battle axe,
and stood perfectly still,
staring them in the face.
Like a flock of birds,
they all turned at once
and headed in the other direction down into the glades,
probably to torment some poor alligator.
Then I put my instruments in my car and proceeded to my next lesson.
Perhaps it is my daily ingestion of David's Inspired Poetry that Has Made me a Warrior.
Who Knows.

Wonderful Psalm ... every line of it. Read it aloud a few times. It is amazing how many true prayers to God it covers. Concisely. Thank You for calling my attention to this Psalm, I had not recognized what a tremendous Psalm it is (previously).

Trust in the LORD. Love the LORD with ALL your heart, soul, mind, body, and strength,: and love your neighbor as yourself. Come with contrite heart and bow down before You and repent of our evil ways. Believe in Jesus Christ as our Redeemer, Savior, Deliverer, Read and know the Scriptures and obey His commands, simply to please God and know His instructions are for our good. Turn not from Your believers, and keep us in Your Mercy and Love.
