Because I thought the best we can offer Him is belief in the Finished Work in Christ.

Wrong. That's what he offers us.

He doesn't offer us BELIEF in the Finished Work of Christ. We believe what He says.

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory whiat I preached unto you, unless ye have BELIEVED in vain.."(1 Cor. 15:1-4)

"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have BELIEVED in Jesus Christ.."(Gal. 2:16).

"That we should be to the praise of His glory who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye BELIEVED ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." (Eph. 1;12,13).

I'm pretty sure I have no idea what you are talking about. The free gift of salvation is offered, but in order to receive the free gift we MUST BELIEVE.
