You need to know your authority through Jesus. In the case of the centurion in Matthew chapter 8 he understood the authority of Jesus. He understood the authority of Jesus because he saw how it worked in his own life. In his own life all he did was speak and those under him obeyed him. So he understood that Jesus had authority over sickness so all he had to do is speak and that sickness would obey him. And Jesus spoke the word and the sickness obeyed him.

You have to understand your authority through Jesus. You have to understand that when you speak to things in the name of Jesus those things have to obey you. What did Jesus say "He that believeth on me the works that I do shall he do also"(John 14:12). What works did Jesus do? He commanded the works of the devil and they obeyed him. As Jesus said "Behold I give unto you power(authority) over all of the power(ability) of the devil"(Luke 10:19).

Understand the devil is as a roaring lion (1Peter 5:8). It doesn't say he is a roaring lion it says he is as a roaring lion. He makes a lot of noise, but he is already defeated Jesus already triumphed over him (Colossians 2:15). A way I like to say it is Jesus knocked his teeth out and now his bark is worse than his bite. Don't let the devil gum you. Understand that the devil is under your authority through the name of Jesus. And at the name of Jesus every knee bows (Philippians 2:9,10). You just have to speak the word and the devil and all of his works has to obey.

Now, how many times in my life have I read that story about the faith of the Centurion and yet I never grasped that outlook about it. Truly, the Spirit is always working to inform those who love our Lord. Thanks for posting this. Maranatha!

Our God is so awesome the way He put together His Word. When ever I go to a Bible Study or just study on my own, I go through John, Acts, Romans etc. and no matter how many times I have gone through them at different Bible studies, something new always jumps out and touches me. Never boring, always new insight. Some new thought from a different teacher or just the Spirit working in my mind, I often wonder, now why didn't I ever catch that before? I've been through these scriptures a hundred times and never caught that thought before. God is great.

The Living Almighty Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ will judge the Pope and all Catholics who do not believe in God's grace from Christ Jesus alone as mentioned by the Apostle Paul who is NOT one of the 12 apostles but made an apostle by God alone to become the apostle to the gentiles - the original 12 apostles were all commissioned to be apostles to the Jews alone for the Great Commission which only resides properly in the Gospel of the Kingdom to the Jews. Today, the Gospel is the dispensation of God's grace for whom we true Christians are to follow the Apostle Paul, and Paul follows Christ Jesus.

If someone today says that they follow Jesus today, then that person sure better follow and perform ALL the Mosaic Law in order to be saved by Jesus Christ.

But Christ Jesus in the Gospels said that He has fulfilled and completed the Mosaic Law so that we who are in this dispensation of God's grace do not need to perform or follow the Law to be saved.

I was born into a Catholic family and I know that Catholics are taught to follow the Mosaic Law; ok, they don't call it the Mosaic Law, but it is the same thing that the Jews were to follow in the OT; which now the Catholics follow by bringing the OT practices and thinking and merge them together with the NT. Not a correct practice.

I know what I am talking about, since I am a grace believer and Christian evangelist and solid theology and doctrine student of God's infallible Word - the perfectly preserved KJV Bible.
