Just curious...how does a Christian set aside the metaphysical?

My job requires me to be concrete. If I take an engineering project proposal to the Board on metaphysical terms, I would be immediately fired. The house that I (or mostly the bank) owns was built on strictly a physical basis. I could hardly plan the construction on metaphysical terms, could I?

As humans we live in both the human realm and the Godly/Metaphysical one. And God helps us bridge the gap.

That said, it is better to starve in the human one than sin against the Godly one, isn't it. Luckily, for most of us, our jobs don't make us choose between them.

However, what if your superiors asked you to design an engineering project that you believe violates His will. Such a project would be rejected by you altogether, wouldn't it.

In my career, I have rejected many assignments because I thought they were wrong--and usually my superiors came to see the efficacy of such decisions. And even when they didn't, they came to respect my desire to do what is right.

My experience is that God's will is also good for companies and certainly the customers they serve.

Long story, short...as a retired executive, I would certainly want the men and women working under my direction to be directed by their consciences FIRST and by sound business, engineering and financial principles SECOND.

As to your point about space aliens, I also tend to think that what is being experienced and observed are NOT space aliens.

BTW, I focus my attention not on what people have observed visually but on those individuals who believe they have been part of a lifetime abduction process.

The most authoritative accounts and those which seem most self-evidently accurate are those recorded by John Mack and Budd Hopkins.

Clearly something has happened to these people. And because the accounts are consistent down to the tiniest details and over long periods of time--in some cases, over the entire lifetimes of multiple generations of some families--one can safely conclude that what is happening has been confirmed by many, many witnesses.

Now to what is happening!

It is rather clear that the abductees are being subjected to a kind of collective rape and the experiences violate all manner of the standards of decency we humans hold dear. It is in fact possible (in a metaphysical sense--call it conscience if you wish) for those who pore over the vast collections of abductions accounts to reach only one conclusion--such abduction are inherently evil.

In fact, they are evil to a Satanic degree.

For that reason, I tend to believe these creatures who claim during abductions to be "aliens" are most like what have been described Biblically as fallen angels--creatures which exist in a spiritual realms yet can either interact with this realm or actually enter it.

As Allan Hynek came to believe, these beings are not extra-terrestrial, but extra-dimensional.

Now, is it possible that these abduction experiences are actually the result of childhood abuse or even Satanic ritual abuse (as some have suggested)?

I believe that is possible. But that still doesn't explain the physical scars and multiple witnesses to such accounts (when two or more people claim to have been collectively abducted).

All said...this is a very real phenomena and an enigmatic one. But because we lack the evidence to absolute define it does not mean that sensible people can ignore it or pretend it isn't happening or to deny the great pain it is causing some among us.

Sorry for the long answer, but I hope it clarifies the reasons some of us are part of these threads.
