“Bekaa” is the place in Lebanon. It could be a different spelling in the RSV; mine is locked in the TV cabinet right now, and the Spanish version has yet another spelling.

My Tanakh has beth-caph-aleph. My "good" dictionary (3-volume Alcalay) defines it thus: bakha (tree mentioned in the Bible, sometimes identified with the mulberry); weeping, mourning. emek habakha [the phrase in the Psalm] Valley of Weeping, Vale of Tears (originally name of a valley in the vicinity of Jerusalem); the Exile.
