Whether to wether ...

Some would say not in hot and humid weather, for fear of flies.

I did not castrate my males, but most sheep breeders do. It makes management easier because you don’t have to run them separately.

Also some maintain that intact males have a gamier flavor. I ate several of my rams though and I found the flavor very good. YMMV, I suppose.

You do risk slightly slowing their growth, both from the couple of days it takes to recover from the trauma and from the hormonal changes.

Thanks, that was informative. “Wether” is a verb, too? Makes perfect sense, I guess, since “weather” is one.
