When I do firearms instruction ... the usual line is keep your finger OFF the trigger until you mean to fire.
Keeping your finger off something is a LOT harder than putting it ON something.
I always say to lay your trigger finger along the slide (or barrel if it’s a revolver) until you mean to fire. That’s way easier to do.
So, seems to me, it’s easier to put your mind on God, on your job, on your neighbor than it is to keep it off yourself.
