It would be interesting to have a mormon distinguish ‘their feelings’ between the presence of the Holy Spirit and that of an unholy spirit.

That is easy. To the LDS ‘good feelings’ are the HS, ‘bad’
feelings (confusion, questioning Mormonism, being uncomfortable) is not the HS.

Stupid but true.

True but what are those good/bad feelings...I’d like to hear them defined by a Mormon. Feelings can be fickle and manipulated so how then can they rely on those feelings unless they are expressly defined to measure by?

Someone may have a good feeling eating icecream...another trying to loose weight will not have that good feeling, more than likely a guilty feeling. So you cannot measure the goodness of the icecream itself by feelings. Thus someone stating they “feel” the presence of the Holy Spirit needs to define and articulate which or what feeling determines that presence is authentic, and what “feeling” specifically denotes it is an unholy spirit.
