I also removed the contact information of the authors. Folks wanting that can go to the link at BibleCodesDigest.
I believe this is the most extensive study into the phenomenon, to date.
There are some fascinating OThuga codes that have been turning up recently.
I still think the art/science is in its infancy.
DEAR END TIMES/ DREAMS/ VISIONS/ PROPHECY/ PRAYER WARRIORS LIST . . .
It has been many many months since I’ve posted anything about the Bible Codes—maybe a couple years or so.
I have not ceased believing in them.
I grew weary of the state of the art and more weary of the ignorant noises such postings fostered.
I don’t know that the cryptic codes have become any more elegant—though some are.
However, the science about the art has progressed considerably as this research shows.
You may, however, prefer to skip to the SUMMARY FINDINGS the last few pages of the article.
I believe the scientific methodology is top flight. Folks may naysay and throw rocks at it—but it will likely be out of ignorance or out of distorting the facts.
This recent DIGEST of codes has some interesting things about OThuga.
Does 1+1=2 ?
Normally.
Your point is?
Particularly since you haven’t read the article posted hereon . . . and I’m skeptical you’ve read it at the site.
Thanks for the ping — I was just reading about the Bible Code/Torah Code last week! LOL :) Thanks much for the resource! :)
Sure.
It’s the best site with links to a couple other good sites, IIRC.
Blessings,
This article deals mostly with the methodology of studying, but I didn't see a basis for why people are looking for the codes.
They are like the da Vinci code.
Exactly....As far as scripture goes it would seem to certainly complicate and distract from the study itself. When you start looking for codes and the unknown values of writings you can be pretty certain you'll find some sort of conspiracy to attract the masses. Thinking now of Davinci Codes and other movies and books of recent years which tend to mystify our cultures thinking...there is always that interest too in spiritualizing what is found or twisted to be found.
Using this methodology Dr. Lester Price* discovered that if counted from the end of a sentence to the beginning there was a .099 deviation from the number of letters as counted from beginning to end. Astounding, truly astounding!
Dr. Prices pioneering work has been featured in the Atkinsonville Cosmic Honker.
Sir Isaac Newton and some Rabbis 100+ years ago or so first wrestled with the concept . . . The Rabbi’s used cards, IIRC.
The Old Testament is vowel-less.
With a computer it is easy to make it one very long word without any spaces.
Then choose a skip distance—every 8th letter, every 158th letter, every 275th letter or whatever.
Arrange those resulting letters in order and see if they make any sense in Good Hebrew.
It turns out . . . some do.
There’s software to run through a range of skip distances with a given range of text.
Early in the art/science, it was felt that 10 or more letters making Good Hebrew sense was significant. The science and math have shown that’s not true. The last I checked—which was a year or two ago—that was now up to 30+ letters to be significantly unlikely by chance.
There are a lot of codes that almost defy statistical characterization in their beauty and elegance. For example, many codes will have a SURFACE TEXT THAT IS A BIBLICAL PROPHECY ABOUT THE END TIMES. And the codes that run through the keywords of that surface text are also about the same prophetic issue as the surface text.
And, there are beautiful clusters of codes around a central code on the same topic. Some of the totals on those characters run over 100. But it’s hard to even define statistically the beauty and mystery of how say 4-8 or so different codes could all intersect the same short surfact text and deal with the same topic.
One of my . . . slight annoyances . . . is that most codes are quite cryptic—like some Biblical prophecies—and make clear, logical sense only after the fact of their occurrance. Others seem quite clear to begin with.
It has also become clear in all the analaysis, that some of the traditions around GENESIS are quite correct.
I don’t remember the details . . . but the averages and particulars of the character distributions in the surface text of Genesis are EXTREMELY UNIQUE compared to any other Hebrew on record.
I believe that the science/art of the Bible Codes is in its infancy still. I expect God to use it to display His magesty in startling ways as we get closer to Armageddon.
I believe as some others have contended from the beginning that it may well be something akin to Daniel’s sealed book to be revealed for the END TIMES—when we have computers enabling it so relatively effortlessly.
Look them up on the site.
I don’t think I’ll get around to posting any very soon.
WRONG.
I don’t see them really having anything very much in common with the Da Vinci nonsense at all.
Saaayyyyyyy whut?
6 igloos X 12 chickens = how many aardvarks divided by 4 dead armadillos?
Thx.
It makes as much sense as that article posted, which is to say exactly none.
Sounds like a lot in common. Something is encrypted (encoded) in the Bible and when you figure out the relationship of the secret code you get out some more stuff like “Be sure to drink your Ovaltine” or whatever.
Maybe I never paid sufficient attention to the DaVinci nonsense.
The major difference is the author . . .
Scripture has God as Author.
Early on folks kept insisting that equal stuff could be found in Moby Dick. Sufficient studies have since proven that quite untrue. One can get NONSTATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT things out of Moby Dick. So what.
