I doubt they were sent by your neighbors. I’m not sure but I think the “sending” is handled on a much higher lever that local word-of-mouth. Reg, you must know.

Anyone can ‘sic’ the missionaries on anybody. I once sent them my cousin who I was mad at (this was after I left).
Where they serve is up to SLC, where they tract and show up on doorsteps is up to the missionaries but they get ‘contact sheets’ from the local leadership or mission pres.
Ah, interesting to know. Wonder why all my devout friends and neighbors didn't think I was worth "evangelizing"?
