You know when I first began my search for God I did so by picking up the huge family Bible. I figured if I wanted to know about a person I'd read their Biography.... Not long before I was reading the ten commandments, and like we all do going over the list and checking how I might rate, looked fairly good until I read the following scripture....
...."He who is guilty of one of the least of these commandments is guilty of them all!".....
Yikes...I was in BIG trouble!.... What an eye opener that was! I closed the Bible, looked upward and said to God...."Then I am doomed and their is no hope for me"...and walked away from that moment..... Never realizing that short reading,... that seemingly simple exchange between God's word to me and my voice to Him,.... would set in motion everything which thereafter brought me to the place where I would become His and He mine......He had it All mapped out where I soon would meet the individual who would introduce me to Christ... my Savior... and my Lord.
I share this because God's word is so very powerful in ways we simply cannot grasp let alone understand fully of it's impact on our life...thru it and that of God's Spirit working on our behalf....life's are truly transformed...mine was and continues to be...There is no other book or piece of literature alone which can do that... None!... Not in the past, now, nor will there be in the future...IT STANDS ALONE ON ITS OWN just as He intended it to do... His words does not go out from Him void or empty of meaning, but accomplishes all which He sends it out to do.....each and every time. (paraphrasing a bit there)
....Therefore every piece of literature, book I might read, or speaker I might hear...if these cannot stand the test of scripture then they are indeed speaking into the wind.
Well...didn't expect to go on here as I have...but my point is we have all we NEED in Christ Jesus and in the scriptures...everything else is icing at best and toxic at worst.
