Still, II, much of what I've seen you object to within Christianity over years of threads is shared by the Mormon worldview.

So, in that sense, you either ignore that...or, don't care to note that Mormonism teaches the same thing.

If you're referring to a non trinitarian viewpoint you'd be correct and I have no problem sharing that viewpoint with those of a Mormon persuasion. I, unlike you, do not believe everything having to do with Mormonism has cooties. :-) Although my nontrinitarian belief would be different in that I'm not convinced of an human sacrifice for the purpose of atonement. But conversely, a Mormon could tell me what I find unacceptable about Mormonism might be shared by those with a more Christian leaning.

citing Smith: “But while one portion of the human race is judging and condemning the other without mercy...

(Oh, that's why Smith labeled all of us Christians as "apostates" and "corrupt" etc...because he was so "merciful.")

I am grateful that I am not to be judged by fellow humans, but by God

And I'm so grateful that I am not be judged by a fellow human like Joseph Smith, but by God, which BTW, makes Brigham Young an outright liar and false "prophet": "No man or woman in this dispensation will ever enter into the celestial Kingdom of God without the consent of Joseph. . . ." "He reigns there as supreme a being in his sphere, capacity, and calling as God does in heaven." Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 7, 289.

Likewise, I am grateful I won't be judged on the basis of Joseph Smith, which likewise leaves Joseph Fielding Smith to be an utterer of falsehoods as a false "prophet":

"No salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...then this knowledge is of the most vital importance to the entire world. No man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the Kingdom of God." {Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, Vol. 1)

I am also grateful that the standards uttered by the Romney family are false bases of judgements, for if this was the case, no man would stand. We are to be judged on trusting Christ's righteousness (1 Cor. 1:30) -- NOT our own!

Yet Marion G. Romney, Lds "first president," insisted on trying to distort the Gospel into a set of laws:

"Those who have not complied with the laws and ordinances of the gospel will receive a lesser reward." (Marion G. Romney, "How Men Are Saved," Ensign) Nov. 1974, p. 38)

Sorry, but "getting there" has zilcho to do with "rewards." Oh, sure God will give out rewards, but it's not our ticket passage there. Otherwise, Normandy, it'd be like saying that your adopted kid could only become adopted if he "earned" his "reward" package to join your family. Oh, sure, upon receiving the free gift of adoption, such a kid could find it "rewarding" to live in your family mansion. But the very act of being adopted has ZILCHO to do with judging a kid and weighing their "merit" in joining your family.

That is works-righteousness, which the Bible condemns.

Ok. This has gone on long enough. I lied, I have two hands. I'm sorry. forgive me? :-)

But I have to say Elsie, you're cold dude. If I really only had one hand you didn't even acknowledge. And don't tell me you didn't believe me in the first place, there was some doubt. Be honest. lol

That may be....but a frog placed in warm water gently heated over time does not realize he is scalding to death either.

I do believe your motives are sincere...but we part company on two important issues....actually many others as well.

One is I believe that Christ ‘IS’ GOD..
But as you have stated you believe Christ is ‘A’ God....

Further that you are on your way to God-head yourself, just as the Mormon religion states. Which by the way so does Hinduism/New age and other religions rooted in paganism. All which take away from the Centrality and sufficiency of Christ....which was not to make us Gods at all. We have one God...not many persons working their way to God-ship.

There are many other falsehoods in Mormonism which are in direct opposition to the written and revealed word of God. Unfortunately the deeper into that religion one goes the more they are deceived. As with all deception, the enemy of mens souls uses, those being deceived cannot identify this is so BECAUSE they are believing that deception...which blinds them from the truth. This is why so many past members of the Mormon church and those familiar with their teachings come down hard on those teachings....they are trying to wake people out of that stupor....strongholds of deception do not let loose easily when they have someone captive in them. It's called bondage and is not based on ones comfort.

Take a look at the N. Korean people...who for years have been in bondage and only since the death of their former dear leader has any suspected that they have been mislead. Now they often have to pay with their life trying to escape...once they do they are in shock for a time once they see the truth of how life really is. This is how I see people in the Mormon church....they simply cannot see the deception.

"...never one time have I heard another Mormon condemn non Mormons to hell..."

But it's ok for mormons to condemn apostate mormons to outer darkness (aka mormon hell)? What happens to us once we're no longer mormon? Still outer darkness?

"You hate Mormons but don’t even know why."

I hate myself? I hate my wife?

Really Sandy, hyperbole and misrepresent much?

Oh, wait, what am I saying...

“Those who have not complied with the laws and ordinances of the gospel will receive a lesser reward.” (Marion G. Romney, “How Men Are Saved,” Ensign) Nov. 1974, p. 38)

What blasphemy...

there is no “lessor reward”

There is only the one level of Heaven...

or there is Hell...

and the decision is ours to make while we are still alive...

after we die its TOO late...

all the water in the oceans of the world are not enough to dead dunk us into Heaven once we are dead...

and dead dunking us several times at each mormon cow drinking trough at each mormon building around the world doesnt work either...

“One of the finest wines of Idaho...care to smell the bottlecap?”

One of my all time favorite movies. MrR and I run that line every time we open a bottle of wine. EVERY time.

It’s too far to go to Vegas to pick it up. Now if the dummies in Utah Liquor Stores knew a thing or two about marketing....
