As my late father in law used to say, "that's why they make chocolate and vanilla...". I found it bothersome, but will certainly read it.

I will be curious to see if there is more to her rationale than "contraception causes bad things to happen, so the church must be right". In many cases scripture makes it clear that there are good things and bad things that come from our actions. Scripture is very clear that having children is a wonderful blessing from God. Personally I feel a bit sad for my two siblings who each have one child. My wife and I have 5. Our youngest is adopted, and if my feelings for her are any indication of how our Lord feels about having adopted us through Jesus Christ it is something amazing.

But God making it clear that you will be blessed is very different than God saying "Thou shall". When I skimmed it I didn't see any biblical rationale.

I'll find out and we can discuss.

God's blessing to you.

God’s blessing to you, too! The Lord only gave me one and how I wished that it were not that way. It’s great that you adopted too. We talked about it and talked but just never got around to it and it’s something I still feel sad about.

Meanwhile, my “only” thinks it’s great since he doesn’t know anything else. Also, my husband was betrayed by his siblings in a very evil manner so maybe siblings aren’t all they’re always cracked up to be... I think Abel might agree.
