Man's Authority Through Jesus
06-07-10 | Frank Broom

Posted on 06/07/2010 4:29:45 PM PDT by Frank Broom

This is a subject very important to the body of Christ. The authority of the body of Christ in the earth. As a born again christian you have a right to use the power and authority of Jesus to do his works while He is seated at the right hand of the Father. We got through finishing celebrating Resurrection Sunday, Jesus coming and saving us from our sins and providing salvation, but many don't realize what else Jesus did. He restored you to your original God given authority. Because of Adam somethings came into the earth that God never intended and so man fell from the place of authority God intended. The first Adam pulled man down, but the last Adam(Jesus) raised us back up (1Corinthians 15:45 Ephesians 2:6). God raised us up through Jesus. When Jesus walked the earth He took authority over things as a man anointted by God. And as such as the Roman Centurion said "All you have to do is speak" for things to obey him (Matthew 8:8,9). And He passed his authority to his disciples (Matthew 10:1,8). And with that authority they went out and did the works of Jesus (Mark 6:7,13). Jesus passed his authority by his words. And as He authorized them He authorized you. The only question is do you believe (John 14:12 Mark 16:17,18). You have that authority whether you use it or not is up to you (Matthew 17:20). Jesus said "All power(authority) is given unto me in heaven and in earth" then he told them to go in that authority (Matthew 28:18,19). Understand in Ephesians 1:22 it says God has put all things under the feet(authority) of Jesus and since they are under his feet they are under your feet(authority). He is the head and we are the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:23). So what the head wants to do He has to do it through his body the church. So whatever you ask(command) in his name you should expect to be done just as if Jesus was speaking. When you speak in Jesus name you are speaking from your level of authority in Christ not within yourself.

Now when God first made man He gave man dominion over all the earth (Genesis 1:26-28). That's why Jesus had to come as a man. A man got us in this mess (the curse) so a man had to get us out (Galatians 3:13). Because God gave man dominion He authorized man to operate in the earth. That's why have you noticed when Jesus was raised from the dead He didn't heal one person, He didn't cast out one demon, He didn't do one miracles and that's because He was restored to his Divine self. He had his glorified body and God only authorized those with a physical body to have dominion. So whatever Jesus wants to do He has to do through you. That's why Jesus told us to occupy until He come (Luke 19:13). Occupy means-To take possession of and maintain control over by force. Isn't that what God told Adam to do (Genesis 1:26-28). You have a force behind you. Have you ever been in a wind storm and tried to force your way against it, but had you got in the flow of it then it would have pushed you. Look at Job 8:2 God's words are as a strong wind. Get in the flow of God's word and let it push you into your distiny. Jesus can't take possession for you, He backs you, but you have to step out in faith. Jesus backs you, that's why He said Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18). Notice that it starts with you so if there's something going on in your body speak to it, if there's something going on in your family speak to it, if it's something going on in your home speak to it in the Name of Jesus.

Side Note: Be careful what you speak over your body. Look at Genesis 1:26-28 again, notice "Let them have dominion over all the earth". What is your body made of ? Earth (Genesis 2:7). Notice Psalms 8:4-6 God has put all the works of his hands under man's feet. And your body is a work of his hands. Now understand that you are a spirit with a body and it's the spirit man that has authority. And when you have authority all you have to do is speak (Matthew 8:9). So be careful what you speak- I can't remember anything, these old bones can't do what they used to do you are exercising dominion.

I thank God for this revelation and I encourage you to write the scriptures down and study them for yourself.

I read this about three times trying to make sense of it. It is not written in a coherent manner. I get the feeling that Frank is trying to make a point, but I am not certain what that is. It would be helpful to explain what authority did Jesus give, and to whom did he give it. Is God limited to working through the Church, or can he or does he work outside it? Should every Christian expect to do everything that Jesus did? These are a few questions that I got from reading this.

Frank you sound like a faith in your faith teacher like: hagin. copeland ,oral roberts, credo dollar and kenyon. I read kenneth hagin and kenneth copeland their books. Even paul left people sick some time. You can pray and believe and wait for an answer. Sometimes its a yes. Then a No too at times. They can derail your faith in Jesus. Beware.

Also Frank If you are reading about Smith Wigglesworth. All the faith teachers quote him. His exploits are numerous miracles. I believed many happened. But what the books don’t tell you is that not everyone was healed. When you read his quotes not once does he mention the non healings. He never wrote a book. People took down his words in a sermon then published them. His own daughter was never healed. His so-in-law wrote a book on him. There are many books. Remember all 11 apostles were matyred but one John. He died a feeble old man. 2peter1:2 2Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Get that true knowledge. His will be done.

This is dangerously close to Word Faith. I noticed the use of “believer's authority.” This was used for many years by Kenneth Hagin (the father of the modern word-faith, name it and claim it movement).

Ephesians 1:22 is taken out of its context and is used to place the believer's position on par with that of Christ. This is wrong.

Think of this, if we had the same authority as Jesus, then we should be able to call worlds into existence, create life, rocks, trees, etc. from nothing.

Word Faith should be revealed for the heresy that it is. God is not accountable to man.

Well Johngrace thanks for your comment. The Bible also says that all the promises of God are yes and amen. God never says no to something He has promised.

Thank you Nosterrex for taking the time to read this article. Sometimes you have to do you own individual studying and allow God to open your understanding. Anything someone teaches might leave someone with question by through your individual study God knows what you want to know and He has the ability to enlighten you into all knowledge. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. You mentioned the term “Word Faith” I thought the Bible says we are to walk by faith. My question to you is faith in what? Faith in the word. And when Jesus walked the earth there is no mention of him creating worlds or rocks. Jesus said “Those that believe on him will do the works that he did”. Those are the words of Jesus. The scriptures also say Jesus is the head and we are the body of Christ so in other words we are one. Otherwise how can we do what He did.

Thank you bibletruth for taking the time to read this article. The revelation I am referring to is the truth that through Jesus his body the church has authority over the things of the devel as He said in Luke 10:19. And as the seventy said “The devils were subject to them through his name”. And that’s still the case now. All the things of the devil are under Jesus feet and the scripture say Jesus is the head and the church is his body so we are considered as one. So as things obeyed him through his name things have to obey us. Thanks

It is not as if I am new to the Scriptures. I have spent most of my life reading, studying, and preaching the Scriptures. I have had many years of formal theological and biblical studies. Interpretation of Scriptures is not an individual or personal endeavor as the Scriptures plainly tell us. It is not a matter of individual opinion, but it is a matter of the entire church. I understand that you are sincere about what you believe, but you might be sincerely wrong, too. Every heretic sincerely believes that he has the correct interpretation of Scripture, and wrestling with Scripture is not in itself any guarantee of correct understanding. I do not mean this in any disparaging way, but it is a fact that I had to learn as do nearly all students of the Scriptures, namely that there is not any idea or "revelation" or understanding that you have or will ever have that someone else has not thought of it first.

That's why have you noticed when Jesus was raised from the dead He didn't heal one person, He didn't cast out one demon, He didn't do one miracles ...

You don't know that for sure, its pure speculation on your part but you are treating it as absolute fact and you build your next point on this presumption.

and that's because He was restored to his Divine self.

Jesus Christ is fully human and fully divine. He did not relinquish his humanity at his resurrection.

He had his glorified body and God only authorized those with a physical body to have dominion.

Here is where you make a most serious error, for which we are quite justified in labeling you a false teacher.

The glorified body of Jesus Christ IS physical. It IS human ... Look up Luke 24:36-39.

And while they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst. But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit. And He said to them "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?" "See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."

The glorified body of Christ IS a physical body. It may have some different physical properties from what we are used to (indeed, he just appeared out of nowhere when he appeared here).

So whatever Jesus wants to do He has to do through you.

This statement is well outside the bounds of Scripture. I urge you to reconsider your commitment to the text of the Bible. Consider Colossians 2:8

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the traditions of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

Thank you dartuser for your reply. I’m basing what I said on the scriptures and I do not read anywhere in the Bible were it says Jesus did any miracles after his resurrection. Now if you know of any please let me know. And my question to you is if a glorified body is physical what are we going to be changed into if you look at 1Corinthian 15:52-54. Now when I said what Jesus wants to do He has to do through you Jesus said whatever you ask in my name that will I do John 14:13,14. He also said Whatever you bind on earth would be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth would be loosed in heaven, it starts with you. What you ask He’ll do. What you bind on earth will be bound in heaven.

Thank you Nosterrex for your reply. I never made any mention of your qualifications as far as understanding scriptures neither did I say interpreting scripture a individual or personal endeavor. All I said is that whatever you did not understand God could enlighten you. That’s all I said and I’m sure you will agree no matter how much studying a person has done God can still show you something you don’t understand because no one person knows all. Thanks

Because of Adam somethings came into the earth that God never intended

Can you offer support for this statement? Are you certain that God is not proceeding with his original plan?

I’m basing what I said on the scriptures and I do not read anywhere in the Bible were it says Jesus did any miracles after his resurrection. Now if you know of any please let me know.

I understand that ... and "No", I don't know of any but not everything Jesus did is recorded in the gospels; right? Can you definitivly say Jesus didn't eat trout after his resurrection? No ... does it matter ... no.

But in your case you are basing an integral part of your following argument on the absolute truth of your speculation about what he did after the resurrection. You are adding to the Biblical text what is not strictly covered.

And my question to you is if a glorified body is physical ...

You did not interact with the clear statement that Jesus himself made concerning his own glorified body. There is no "IF" about this point. Our glorified bodies ARE physical bodies. The 1 Cor passage tells us only one thing more about that resurrection body ... that it will be "imperishable ... immortal" ...

Our current physical bodies (which are prone to decay) will be swapped for an imperishable one. What is the nature of this new physical body? It doesn't say, but it will be imperishable. That is what we know for sure, it will be imperishable, immortal ... but it is still physical.

It's fine to speculate on what we will be able to do in our new bodies ... will we be able to fly? Will we be invisible if we want to? Can we transport ourselves to Jerusalem for worship if we want to? Can I finally realize my lifelong dream of pitching for the Cleveland Indians? All of this is vain speculation that is certainly fun to think about ... but it all goes well beyond the text of the Bible and we must recognize it for what it is ... pure speculation without Biblical support.

All of this is ancillary ... My real problem with your argument is your end result. Your end conclusion is that somehow Jesus is unable to execute his will on Earth unless he has us, since he doesn't have a physical body anymore.

How is God going to enlighten me or anyone else? The idea that God is going to “enlighten” someone without any explanation of how God will do this and how does someone know that such “enlightenment” is nothing more than self-deception or wish fulfillment is dangerous and misleading. This is how cults originate. There is nothing the Devil loves more than people waiting for some revelation from God or enlightenment. Be careful my friend, for you are walking on sinking sand.
