"For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled." (Luke 21:22)
One more comment: the line about carrying away “goods,” well goods covers almost everything so why he says it doesn’t mean oil, potash, etc., I think he’s off a bit. Goods really covers everything and anything.
Your citation of Luke 21:22 should be taken in context of verse 32. Together Jesus must be saying that ALL prophecy would be fulfilled in HIS generation.
ping!
lol. Amen.
He and many others like him have adopted a system of interpretation that locks him into a theology of irrelevance. Here is his final comment to me: Things are winding up very rapidly these days. Yes they are. We are witnessing the end of humanism. Either get on board to make it happen through the preaching of the gospel, applying the Bible to every area of life, and building an alternative society when the inevitable collapse comes or get out of the way. There wont be a rapture to rescue you. Deal with it.
AMEN! The Gospel does not fail in this life. The Gospel is victorious. Two thousand years ago there were a dozen Christians. Today there are over two billion Christians.
Is that not progress? Is that vector going south or north?
What better way for the powers of evil to succeed than to have Christians give up the fight and assume failure is not only an option, it is the future.
Fight the gloom. The Gospel triumphs.
