Amen
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
Joining in prayer.
AMEN! As I witness the things that have been said even here on FR, I am more assured than ever of the truth of God’s Word to us.
***********
God the Almighty one WILL prevail over the evil and hatred in this world. Until that day we pray for all the righteous in all lands who love you and praise your name! We pray that you will open the eyes and ears of those who are this very day cursing your beloved Israel. May those who are plotting evil be trapped in their own webs of deceit and lies. Let the TRUTH be known in all the lands of this world — you alone are God, the Most High. You alone are our Lord. And, You ALONE are worthy of our praise! Please bless us with your wisdom and guidance in these days of darkness, that we may be instruments of Your Truth and TRUE peace. Please Lord, continue to bless us with the courage we must have to continue to praise You openly, and to stand for righteousness no matter what evil comes against us. Lord, we are all sinners and unworthy of your grace, yet you freely offer it to us. We thank you for your mercy upon us. AMEN.

Thank you, LTOS. As always, this thread is such a blessing to me. My faith is growing stronger day by day, and as the confusion in our world grows it is a blessing to know that God is by our side — always and forever.
Amen.
Thank you for posting that! One of my all-time favorite hymns... I was blessed several times to sing it as a solo in my old church choir... I had to go and find it on YouTube to listen and sing along! What a blessing to me (and I can still hit the notes with a bit of work! LOL That made me happy!) Thank you again for posting and reminding me of it. I am now filled with joy and strength! How amazing when one sings to the Lord and how it lifts one’s soul!
Here is a link to Sandi Patti’s incredible version for those who wish to hear it:

And here are the full lyrics, just for good measure! :)
GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS
Great is Thy faithfulness, oh God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
to Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

The fact, as you continue reading, is that Abraham was only important insofar as he was the brawn and earthly male seed. It was Sarah and Sarah alone who was truly chosen. She was neing groomed and prepared throughout her entire life. Abraham was chosen because he was Sarah’s husband. It was the grooming of Sarah that caused her pregnancy to be so late in her life. Otherwise, Ishmael would have inherited the Covenant.
You will come to realize that Abraham was not the hero you would imagine.
You will also come to realize that most of the most important historical milestones for the renewal of the Covenant were through the women G-d chose.
Sarah is the reason Henrews trace their lineage through the mother and NOT the father.
Then When Isaac was 40, Abraham sent Eliezer, his steward, into Mesopotamia to find a wife for Isaac, from his nephew Bethuel’s family. Eliezer chose Rebekah for Isaac. After many years of marriage to Isaac, Rebekah had still not given birth to a child and was believed to be barren. Isaac prayed for her and she conceived (25:2021). Rebekah gave birth to twin boys, Esau and Jacob. Isaac was 60 years old when his two sons were born (25:2426). Isaac favored Esau, and Rebekah favored Jacob.[6]
The Covenant was then renewed through Jacob, who became Israel.
It amazes me how so many modern day people refuse to recognize the role of women in the Old Testament.
Truly Amazing. :) That seems to be where we are closest to Him. When we draw nearer to Him within our sorrow and despair — and He is always there for us, ready to lift our hearts, our souls, and to give us true hope once again. Our Loving Father. He shares our sorrow, I believe. He does not want any of His Children to suffer - and that includes those who have given in to darkness, and evil.
I pray for those who are blind and deaf to His truth - that their hearts are softened, and their hate is subdued. May those who continue to plan evil be snared in traps of their own making.
First, I thank you for sharing that view of the passage. :)
I don’t see where anyone refuses to recognize the role of women on this thread, honestly. Just sharing of an understanding gained... And, in reading your post it adds to it - for a better understanding, IMHO.
The Mother and the Father are indeed BOTH important. Sarah and Abraham both had a part in God’s plan for all of those, and ultimately for us.
As far as Abraham being a hero - that implies worship. I think everyone recognizes none of us are worthy of God’s grace. But, indeed because of the story of ALL of these people, including through their trials, we come to know God. And, Abraham was just as much a part as his wife, and the mother of his children.
This is all JMHO. And, again I do thank you for that added explanation. It always just made sense to me that you would count the religious family through the mother because of the wars and such in the past where many women were raped during the raiding of villages and other tragic things. Not as a result of denying women’s role in the Old Testament.
There are numerous important women throughout the Old Testament, just as there are numerous important men. Without all of it we could not know God’s Word...
