The beliefs of the antis can be ridiculed and attacked, as easily as anyone else’s ... Basically, the Mormons, conservative Catholics, and the groups here who constantly attack both, agree on some fundamental principles.

These are two interesting statements, LL. First you seek the 'everybody does it' defense, attempting to portray a moral equivalency between "antis" and Mormons. Then, you seek to portray a Mormon/Catholic alliance based on the principle that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'

As to the first assertion: Is that the best you can do? Other peoples' beliefs are just as ridiculous? How can you expect to persuade anyone when you not only irritate them by denigrating their beliefs, but then admit that your own ideas are too silly to be believed? Are you really trying to embarrass yourself?

As to the second assertion: Are you trying to say that Catholics should band together with the 'Morg' against the "antis," or that Catholics, Mormons, AND "antis" should band together for conservatism? Which is it: 'can't we all just get along,' or 'help save us from those evil Protestants?'

Further, by "antis" you falsely imply that all anti-Mormonism posters are also anti-Catholic; there are many posters who are not anti-Catholic, but nonetheless find Mormonism ridiculous. Romney's quotation of JFK's famous speech where he reassured the public that a Catholic could be trusted to be president has fooled some Catholics into believing in your union of "antis" (K-Lo of NRO being one), but Romney's antics persuade few FReepers.

Part of conservatism is recognizing that there are more important things than politics; this is the reason that there are more boards on FR than just ones on breaking news and politics. The point of a religion board is to discuss religion, not to "put aside doctrinal disputes" for the sake of a united political front.

Good Q, Mr. Reaganaut. (And, BTW, this denigration is done directly and personally by you, LL -- on FREEPER threads...
...as well as indirectly and by delegating of your "sustaining power" and by derivation of your offering plate dollars...)
...the latter is carried out by whatever of your funds has been used by Lds, Inc. to go into its translation & curricula & e-funds & mags, etc. to slander & denigrate the entire Christian worldwide church.

...you seek to portray a Mormon/Catholic alliance based on the principle that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend.'...Are you trying to say that Catholics should band together with the 'Morg' against the "antis," or that Catholics, Mormons, AND "antis" should band together for conservatism? Typical Mormon "apology" of trying to have it both ways. They play "pinball" off of people. They won't get on an Lds apostle's case for calling the Catholic church "the whore of Babylon" (Bruce R. McConkie)...behind their backs they'll reference Catholics as "apostates" with 100% creedal abominations...but then they'll try to cozy up to perceived RC allies on these threads.

Such is the spiritual chameleon.

Well said Mr R.

And Lady Lawyer, I’m still waiting for you to attack one of my beliefs. Not me personally which seems to be the Mo MO (ha ha, get it? Mormon Modus Operandi? Mo MO? I crack me up)

But please, by all means, pick one of my beliefs and whack away. I can easily take it.
