I found a book in the thrift shop that explains how missionaries work. They refuse to discuss any one particular doctrine with the "target". They lead someone down the path with loaded questions that begin with "wouldn't you agree..." and make statements that sound biblical and Christian. The goal is to get one to agree that the book must be true and it's from God.

Then they will get you to agree that we all must obey God and we do not understand His ways.

IT is so different than the way a Christian would try to lead another person to the truth.

It is. When I was training to be an LDS missionary, we were told to control the conversation and ask leading questions just like that.

It was a hint that we were manipulating them.
