I’m not sure how the information is entered on New Family Search—whether it is entered by the users after the fact (of the temple ordinance) or whether it is entered by the temple workers as a record of the ordinance.
I do know that Family Search is far from error free (especially if it allows users at home to enter data), and it does have its share of crazies. A friend of mine was stalked and threatened by a distant (very distant) relative who disagreed with some information she had entered about a shared ancestor. She had to contact whatever Church authorities police the site and his privileges to post were taken away.
That is creepy.
If this is known, why isn’t there a system of checks and balances before the work is actually done in the temple? If there are that many names, you would think that they wouldn’t want people wasting their time doing ordinance work for names that will just be pulled.
