There are many of the royal house of Europe that claim a lineage to Jesus and Mary Magdalen the whore. The Moravian claim that Mary and the Holy Grail the child of Jesus came to southern France and that Jesus came with them and was not crucified but that Jesus had a twin brother who died in his place similar to the Jewish scape goat.

I am familiar with the stories and the recent popular histories of it as well as the primary sources. The stories were created and embellished (complete with lineages) to bolster divine right in the cases of questionable ascendancy.

doesn’t mean there is any truth to them, nor does it make the LDS claim that Jesus was a polygamist any less blasphemous.
