Armenia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Lithuania, Malta, Monaco, San-Marino, Romania, and The Russian Federation.

Some coalition. Let's just say it's a joke, or better yet a "mind over matter" thing, like the European union doesn't mind and they don't matter type. In short, they have no clout.

Four out of ten are not member states, and one is not even a European country: Russia, Armenia, Monaco, and San Marino. Bulgaria and Romania (former east Block countries) just became member states.

Monaco, Malta and San Marino can be best described as micro states. Monaco has an area of 0.76 square miles (that would be a square measuring 0.87 by 0.87 miles!). With a brisk walk you could cross the whole "country" in a matter of 15 minutes or less. It has an estimated 33,000 citizens. Only the Vatican is smaller area-wise.

San Marino (located inside Italy just like the Vatican), is a statelet with an area of 24 sq miles (a square measuring 4.9 by 4.9 miles), and a population of about 30,000 souls.

Malta is a "giant" in this Lilliput club. It's an island with an area of 121 sq. miles (a square measuring 11 by 11 miles, or 151 times, area wise, than Monaco!), and a population of about 414,000 mostly ethnic Maltese.

Bulgaria and Romania are former Warsaw Pact countries with insignificant economy, or influence.

Greece is an economic basket case that had to be bailed out in order not to declare bankruptcy and is hardly in the position to demand anything from the European Union.

Armenia is a former Soviet Republic, that is not only outside the EU but is not even a European country!

Of all the memebr coutnries (not counting Italy) with strong Catholic cultures, such as Poland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Slovenia and France, none has joined this coalition.

Croatia, an EU applicant country, is as Catholic as it gets, but decided to stay out of this I supposenin hopes of not hurting its chances of becoming a member.

Serbia, a country experiencing the Orthodox revival as Russia is, currently under a Yeltsyn-like servile pro western regime, decided to let its traditional Orthodox friends (Russia, Greece and Cyprous) down on this one, in order to cozy up to the godless EU.

In short, if it weren't tragic, mentioning this ten-country coalition would be embarrassing.
