Almost every crime is a hate crime. I never heard of someone committing a crime because the criminal liked the victim.Auto theft is a crime that isn't necessarily directly toward hating or disliking the victim.
Perhaps, but there are few acts of violence or destruction of property done by people who don't hate their victims. I think the point the other poster made, if I may speak for them, is that many crimes are committed through hatred for the victim, therefore "hate crimes" are redundant, and are nothing but big gummint way of protecting some people more than others by hanging a second crime, "hate", around the necks of the perpetrator in a court of law. Who ever hurt another human being, or destroyed their property, through an act of love?
