The point is that the Lord’s Church is not a break away from another temporal religion

Resty, I think I've come to realize the role you play on FR.

Had not the Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his heart, where would Cecil B. Demille's drama be in watching an interesting but long 10 Commandments film!

God allowed all those confrontations to develop in history for many reasons, more than a few I'm sure known primarily or only to Him...but I would say one of those reasons was to let the drama unfold of what happens when God's people rise up...
...just like God's people are starting to rise up against the 52,000 proselyte capturers around the world and say, "No more." "You will not continue to take new people into spiritual bondage. Let my people go."

You're a perfect example of someone who has "steeled" their heart against every reason under the sun that's been given to you to honor the God of Moses...and to stop telling the world that there are other gods out there besides that God. (I say "you" in that you represent the plural people of Mormons)

Cecil B. DeMille has Pharaoh in the movie finally say, after being defeated, "His God is<>/i> God."

When will you conclude that the God of Christianity is God, and that there are no others?

There's no "council of gods."
There's no "gods in embryo."
There's no "mother god" on Kolob.
There's no celestial Kingdom full of new and old gods.
Jesus is not a separate god, making Him God#2 of this world.
The Holy Ghost is not a third, making Him God#3 of this world.

Isaiah 43...Isaiah 44...Isaiah 45 over & over & over & over says God doesn't know of any other gods...there are no gods beside him...before him were no gods; and neither will there be any after Him.

The Book of Mormon knows of no other gods...and when the Bible describes other gods, they are always "false" gods -- or gods who weren't gods "by nature" ["Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods." (Gal. 4:8)]

How long, Resty will you harden your heart to such beckoning?

Did you see anything in the definition YOU provided that said ANYTHING about “breaking away”?

BTW, do you know what temporal means?

BTW, do you know what temporal means?

Yes I used it to describe man made!

Therefore it is not Christian, since the Christian faith arose 1800 years before the LDS did.

Something we have been telling you for sometime...

I see that you used it. I asked if you knew what it means. And “manmade” is absolutely not the answer.

You really believe that Christ saw to it that his church was defunct by 200-300 A.D.?

Actually, I've heard that the Great Apostasy occurred prior to the events of Acts 11:26, less than eight years after Christ's ascension! The apostasy began within the lifetime of Christ's apostles! The Melchizedek priesthood must have been stripped from the apostles themselves! And since most (if not all) of the New Testament was written by the apostles, meaning (if the above is true) that it was written without Melchizedek priesthood authority.

Now this only opens a larger can of worms for the LDS. How could Peter, James, and John have appeared to Joseph Smith and restored the Melchizedek Priesthood to the Earth, if it was stripped from those apostles beforehand?

OK, I’ll give you a break here. “Temporal” in this case means “secular” or “lay”, as opposed to “sacred” or “spiritual”.

For instance, a Wednesday night knitting/coffee club would be a temporal activity. A Wednesday night bible study would be a spiritual activity.

Well at least their inconsistency is consistent...

The point is that the Lord’s Church is not a break away from another temporal religion

So, you can see that saying "temporal religion" is by definition an oxymoron.

And we have learned that a denomination does not mean "broken away".

And your assertation that the Mormon religion is "The Lord's Church" is a highly disputed opinion.

So let's take your statement "The point is that the Lord’s Church is not a break away from another temporal religion"

You can see how mixed up that is, now that we know the meanings of the words.

Before I go, here is today's encouraging word from KLOVE:

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
