The Pope said not too long ago (pretty sure it was Pope Benedict - time does pass more quickly now) that (very loose paraphrasing) believers who are sincere will be rewarded even if they are not Catholics or Christians in general.

I would like to see a link to that Papal statement. If that is true, then every Muslim suicide bomber will be rewarded with Heaven. You can't get much more "sincere" than that! Seriously, you will find nothing in Scripture regarding rewarding "sincerity" in general. The only "sincerity" that is rewarded is a sincere belief in the truth. Yes, The Truth, as in one and only one. The Gospel of Christ.
