I think this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19956961/
comes closest to what allmendream has in mind (that I know of).
I can find plenty of quotes of this statement,.....” This clash is an absurdity because on one hand there is much scientific proof in favor of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such. “
but I’ve yet to see the quote as amd has presented it which is....”truth that enriches our understanding of life and being as such.”
So that leaves us with one of two possibilities.....
Either he got the quote from somewhere which he won’t disclose.
Or he is misrepresenting (or lying if you will) what the pope actually said to suit his own agenda.
Am I missing any other possibilities?

Clearly the ‘pope’ lacks the most elementary understanding of God’s word, and basic principles of objective science.
Evolution can coexist with neither.
